All Dolan ever wants to do is go after superstars that won't win any games. Steph Marbury Carmelo Anthony Blake Griffin?
I actually think it would make the Clippers a lot better. They'd add a much more reliable offensive player, and lose the soft front court quality they're known for. Paul and Melo are two bad asses, even if you don't like their games, and Paul's got the personality to keep Melo in line. The downside is you're trading away youth in Griffin, and Melo isn't exactly the picture of good health. Imagine trying to stop that pick-n-roll duo late in games.
After watching Griffin play this year I think the Clips should stick with him. I think the Anthony/CP3 combo would be great and potentially unstoppable but Griffin is younger, comparable talent, and still improving.
Yeah looking back, Melo hasn't really played with anyone or been coached by anyone who's really kept him in check. The only time he has, it was Mike K. and a smattering of alpha dogs for Team USA. Guy shouldn't get a pass for this, but it's an interesting thought exercise.
Carmelo makes a great stretch 4 in FIBA. That's about the only nice thing I have to say about his game.
Man, I read that post way too fast (thought he was talking Sterling). But yes, I know the difference.
