This is a letdown game for Leafs after their Jan 1st game in Ann Arbour..... but damn, I'm no fool...I'll take it any day.
Beautiful breakaway goal by kreider blazing down the left side past the d and then makes a monkey out of the goalie. As impressive just before the goal cheap shot artist phaneuf bangs into him and goes face to face with kreider trying to intimidate him. Kreider just stood him up with both hands and stopped him in his tracks. Still don't know if kreider can fight but convinced in any altercation he will almost always be the stronger of the 2 involved. Whoops, moore on a breakaway 5-0. ha ha ha
Yet another game where they play in front of Talbot like it's a playoff game. Yet, they continue to play like horsecrap in front of Lundqvist. Mind boggling.
You are correct but if that is the case at this point so be it and keep playing cam or at least give him some more games. Hank doesn't look into it thus far for some reason. He should have broken about half a dozen sticks over the goal or his defensemans heads by now.
And kreider with his first fight errr wrestling match with phaneuf and still don't know if he can fight but as I suspected his strength will not enable too many people to break his grasp and eventually he throws pfaneuf down for the takedown and for you wrestling afficionados 2 points. Go CK

and do not forget that Nash and Stepan* were nowhere to be found in this game. Zilch goals for both. Nash is a downer....but this game was huge. *Stepan did have an assist.
Can't help but notice MDZ was back in the lineup, guess Glen couldn't make a deal? Congrats to AV for getting the team to come out with 100% effort, don't know if it's a Talbot thing but would love to see the same hop in their step with Hank in goal. CK has a legit shot at rookie of the year if his dominance continues, would rather see him wrestle than break a hand on a helmet. Funny how the refs are sympathetic to Toronto when a guy like Boyle hasn't had a goal in 24 games, not Boyle's fault the Leafs gave up on the play. All in all their best game of the year hope they keep the effort level up.
If they want to trade DZ, then they need to play him. Nobody is going to give up anybody of value, for a player who is not good enough to suit up for his team. At the most it will be one question mark for another.
Nash still sort of invisible but Cam played well. They do seem to play better in front of him, if that isn't going to change then they need to consider moving Hank. I trust Cam, he is a good goalie. I don't know why they don't play as hard with Hank, they probably do but they take more chances maybe with him back there and they get burned. I don't care what anyone says though this is not just the rest of the team, Hank has not been as good for multiple reasons.
Hank carried this team for years. He hasn't had a good 1st half this year but he should get some slack. Hopefully he can pick it up. I like Cam a lot would be great if they can trade him for something good
I agree with you guys that players seem to be playing harder for cam than henrik but that being said cam is making a lot of big close in saves and a couple of unbelievable saves off of deflections. Didn't know anything about him before this season but the more I see of him the more I like him. I hope av doesn't bury him for 8 straight games again and uses him more regularly with hank who needs to show a little emotion out there and thus far looks pretty accepting of the poor play in front of him and also he has given up his share of soft goals this season also. Will be interesting going forward.
