Game. At least they got 1 point, but still not good enough when you are in our position. Oh well...is what it is.

That was a pretty anti-climatic SO. Huge letdown. At least it was quick like tearing off a band-aid.

Not good enough. We move on. Average .500 team. Is what it is. No point getting upset or going off on anyone. I gave that up weeks ago as I said at the time.

Another wasted opportunity by a mediocre team. Not a bad team, but they are mediocre

Exactly. They are what they are. A .500 team. Win one lose one. Great game Terrible game. 44 games in the pattern is clear. .500 team.

Maybe that is good enough to get us in at 7 or 8, but that's it. We are what we are at this point.

Not going to get upset over it.

yeah maybe get us in at 7 or 8 and then done and done. Draft in middle, get above average prospect, wait for 5 years for him to develop. Rinse. Repeat. story of our lives.

I'm with you Step, not a lot of upside there. That is why I stick to what I said weeks ago. Cannot punt on this season yet, no way, but if we make quick fix moves that hurt us next season or the following season I will be pissed. NO QUICK FIX MOVES SATHER. We are not 1 or 2 players away this season and the next two seasons we need to be focused on winning the cup.

I guarantee you 99.5% Sather will make his annual quick fix trade. We are freaking doomed with this owner and GM.

Gotta plan for next year and beyond. Good to see Nash get 2 goals. Reality is with Nash and Hank playing like they have this year this team has no shot

While I agree that Hank has not been his usual self, I believe they need to start bringing in some defenders who will make life a little easier for your goalie's. It's nice to see your defenders making some diving play's to knock the puck off of somebody's stick to prevent a scoring chance, the reality is that they had that scoring chance because someone was out of position, or lost the puck. I stand by what I've been saying for the last 2 month's, the defense as a whole, is not that smart, and after what Hank has done for this organization, he deserves better (actually we do) ...

"They are what they are" and "It is what it is" = apathetic reality
and what is sadder is that their top farm team is worse....now,
that team really stinks. Sather's mission- whatever that is - sucks
    big time.

That game is a perfect example of why Dubinsky got traded. You see him play a game like that, then he completely vanishes for 5 games in a row. That was the player we expected. However, he can never put together his effort consistently.

One thing I took out of this game was that this team is slowly becoming Kreider's team. When he left, they lost a lot of confidence.

What I think is funny are some of the comments after the game. We live in fantasy land if they truly buy what they say.

Alain Vigneault on tonight’s game…“We’ve been playing some real solid hockey for quite some time here as far as not giving up much to the opposition and generating a few quality scoring chances. We are trying to get on the inside a little bit more and tonight coming back in this thing is not an easy thing and we were able to come back in the third (period).”

Henrik Lundqvist on tonight’s game…“I’m happy we got a point. We played well for 60 minutes. They came hard during points of the game, but to come back like that in the third, it shows a lot of good things about this group. I think the difference tonight is I didn’t stop the breakaways and he did, one in the second and in the shootout, so I have some work to do.”

Rick Nash on tonight’s game…“We came off a long road trip. The first game back is sometimes tough and you could tell the first couple of periods we were a little rough, but we stuck with it, built some character, and got one point. But we don’t want to be in that situation in the third period; we’d rather be on the other end of that lead.”

AV - we have been playing solid hockey for some time now? And not giving up too many chances???
Hank - we played well for 60 minutes? Shows a lot of good things about us that we came back???
Nash - says basically the total opposite of Hank. First couple of periods were rough. Built some character and got a point. WHOOPDIE DOO.

We are now officially at the reaching for words and answers stage of the season. Not much else they can say, but funny none the less.

How about, "We lost to an average team at home in a shootout. We stunk. We are below .500 at home and won't make the playoffs unless we start winning out home. We continue to have too many players make dumb mistakes that cost us hockey games. We don't hit the net with our shots nearly enough."

Exactly dump, that is my point. Those comments by the guys are comical. I get they really can't say much else, but it is laughable.

They not only lost a lot of confidence when kreider went out you could feel and hear the air going out of the garden. In another year or 2 if the opportunity comes the rangers could do a lot worse than naming this kid their next captain. Only a matter of time till this kid starts filling up the net. Seems like almost every game he could could have 2 or 3 goals. Kreiders speed, confidence and hitting ability is starting to overwhelm the opposition

I couldn't believed Zuc missed the net when he was setup beautifully with all damn day to shoot the puck. Hitting a corner there and forcing the goalie to make the save should be as automatic as a pitcher hitting his target without the catcher moving the glove. As we have been saying this is just a team with limited offensive skill.
