I know we've discussed this in the past, but Weidman's camp is really crucifying Vitor over TRT and passed failed drug tests. So I wanna know bring this up again…should Vitor be able to be on TRT? Should Hendo be allowed on it? I've always had no issues with Hendo on it (maybe a title bias) because he's never failed a drug test. To me, it just seems like Vitor is using it to legally cheat.
The fact is the percentage of men in their 30s or early 40s that have clinically low testosterone is not in sync with how many pro fighters are getting injections. You could also make the case that pro athletes tend to have more testosterone meaning the number of them using should be even lower than the population at large. To me this suggests that these guys are going out to find a Dr. Feelgood that will approve the treatment. The fact that guys are able to get their levels down the week before fight time doesn't mean they aren't flagrantly abusing the system--Sonnen, Overeem, Bowles, and Silva are recent examples of abuse (and they constitute a significant percentage of the UFC fighters on test). There is also a suggestion that TRT can be used to mask. I hope the AC's move towards banning the treatment this year.
Well Weidman's latest interview, he basically said that TRT can mask abusing injections and danced around the line of accusing Vitor of doing that.
