I don't understand why you are so opposed to Noah. It seems to me he would rock on the Blazers. Is it because you simply prefer Fropez (who also rocks on the Blazers, BTW). What is it about Noah that concerns you?

Yeah its better than nothing, and it helps their draft pick this season.

But I think 4/48 is a fair contract for Deng, that's $12 million less than the inferior Boozer got. Perhaps they would've been able to sign him for a few million less, or gotten a larger return in a sign and trade. Will the Bulls be able to replace Deng's production in free agency with the cap flexibility they now have? I think that is extremely unlikely. Allstar players just are not available, teams hold on to them.

LaMarcus Aldridge is only 3 months younger than Deng. People talk about Deng as if he's getting close to 40 but he's only 28. Many players have their best years at the age of 30. The more I think about this trade the more I like it for the Cavs.

He's a dildo, just like his father. Never liked either of them, probably never will.

I'm not concerned with Noah, but more concerned with how well Lopez gelled with the team. He's become so important, IMO. I would really like Dalembert, but there is no change. I would even be happy with Jerm, but I doubt Golden State ever gives him up. That type of caliber will be players that you can get without trading any of the starting 5

Lu has a lot of miles on him. In the NBA 2 years longer than LMA.

Lu made over $14M this season. A cut to $10M that the Bulls offered seems like an insult, no?

To me the issue is that we can lose in the playoffs with or without him. The Bulls aren't going to get a franchise changing player that they need even with Rose by drafting late in the 1st round or using cap exceptions.

Sometimes you have to swing for the fence.

The consequences of having Deng at a huge salary would be felt in 2015, which people don't seem to note.

That's a good point. There are a lot of players available in 2015. Chicago has an opportunity to play like Olshey did with a franchise player and a bunch of role players. If they can win the lotto, plus have a top 15 to boot, they may be sitting great; especially since they could free up a lot of cap space in 2015 for a good amount of "free agents"

Doesn't all of this apply to Noah too? He is older than Deng.

I think Chicago isn't done. I think Noah will be just as available, but they will get much better in return for him.

Well, the Bulls have struggled to find a reliable C for years, and he's on a very favorable contract. The Bulls have played without Deng for stretches and the guys who filled in proved him to be much more easily replaced.

Plus, the Bulls are all about defense, and Noah is a core part of their team for the next half decade at least.

Yeah, the season-ending Rose injury changed their plans as a team. I think they came out of the trade pretty well with $$$ savings and three draft picks. We'll see if they can capitalize on the rebuild for a second championship window.
