    Jaynes won some sort of random journalism award that no one has heard of the other day, he knows what he's talking about, like Canzano.

    I'm more curios if there are 4 less useless people in Portland Sports media than Jaynes. No Mo Credibility

    Jaynes doesn't think Mo is 9th best. He said no mo room meaning there are others better than Mo who don't fit in the tweet

    And, if we're going to compare TOV, we should really look at AST/TOV ratio. Here goes. It will be interesting to see how this turns out...

    Mo Williams:
    MPG = 24.2
    APG = 4.9
    TOV = 2.1
    AST/TOV = 2.33

    Manu Ginobili:
    MPG = 24.1
    APG = 4.7
    TOV = 2.0
    AST/TOV = 2.24

    Reggie Jackson:
    MPG = 25.9
    APG = 3.8
    TOV = 2.1
    AST/TOV = 1.81

    Ramon Sessions:
    MPG = 21.9
    APG = 2.9
    TOV = 1.6
    AST/TOV = 1.81

    Andre Miller:
    MPG = 19.0
    APG = 3.3
    TOV = 1.1
    AST/TOV = 3.00

    Darren Collison:
    MPG = 20.2
    APG = 2.4
    TOV = 1.3
    AST/TOV = 1.85

    Jarrett Jack:
    MPG = 28.1
    APG = 4.0
    TOV = 1.8
    AST/TOV = 2.22

    Shaun Livingston:
    MPG = 23.5
    APG = 3.2
    TOV = 1.3
    AST/TOV = 2.46

    Tyreke Evans:
    MPG = 25.9
    APG = 4.3
    TOV = 2.1
    AST/TOV = 2.05

    So, Mo is 3rd of 9 in AST/TOV ratio. The only two players who have a better AST/TOV are Andre Miller, who would not be a good fit in our offense and Shaun Livingston who has made exactly ONE 3-pointer all season.

    You know who would be a great back-up PG is Stotts' gameplan? Damon Stoudamire.

    I will now go weep in the corner.

    BTW, I'm not a huge Mo fan. He is what he is. We knew when we signed him he was a streaky shooter and that's exactly what he's been for us. And, given that he only averaged 6.2 APG as a starter last season, I'm pleasantly surprised he's averaging 4.9 APG coming off the bench for us. Is he great? No, but he's cheap and much, much better than anyone we had coming of our bench last year. He seems to have good chemistry with his teammates, fits Stotts' system well and most of all, is cheap. Hard to complain about that. Did I mention he's on a very cheap contract?

    All very legit points. Here's what bothers me about Mo - or more precisely how much the team relies on him.

    Our starting 5 thrive on ball movement. When the offense is clicking, it is a thing of beauty. OTOH, if there was a stat for "seconds spent dribbling", I suspect Mo would lead the team. He too often resorts to the role of ball-stopper - even when he is on the court with multiple starters.

    As much as I dislike Jaynes, I don't think the on court/off court stat he cites is just a fluke. Part of that is his weak defense, but IMHO not all of it.

    Yes, but that is taking into account Mo jacking up a shot when there is no good option in the offense and he has to create something out of nothing. Sometimes those lower percentage shots are the best option available. It might only be be a 42% shot for Mo but if Joel tried to force something it'd be a 28% shot.

    Mo Williams is the best player right now coming off the bench and it ain't close. Remove him and the bench isn't any better than they were last year with where CJ is at right now.

    Yeah, given the situation and our record, I thought it was a cheap shot for Jaynes to call out Mo. He's the best we've got. It could be worse. He came here on a cheap contract and made our historically bad bench a whole lot better. Giving him shit because he's not Manu Ginobili seems a bit unfair to me. If Manu would have come here for $2.5 million, I'd be all over that, but this is the real world.

    Dwight is Dwight. The team hasn't given him much to bitch about this year. Good for them. Unfortunately, he has found someone to pick on.

    If there wasn't something for him to bitch and moan about he would crust up and die.

    Might be kinda risky but I here Golden State is looking for the backup PG. Anyway way the Blazers might be able to land Harrison Barnes after all? http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

    It seems like something could work out with Mo & Faried going to New York, Shumpert going to Denver, and us grabbing a second rounder from someone.

    Using only Mo? Better think about throwing Nic in as well. Barnes can ball.

    Yes he does. And he gets the ball up the court quicker than Andre.
