Next Asian UFC card will be headlined by DHK and John Hathaway. Been a while since we've seen Hathaway so a bit of an odd choice. Mitrione vs Jordan to co-headline. Menjivar going up to featherweight to lose to Hioki... dunno why? Sick of cutting, maybe.

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer has resigned. Kizer has taken the brunt of the criticism sent the NSAC's way over nepotism/cronyism/incompetence among sanctioned judges and officials and arbitrary rulings regarding controversial fight outcomes, etc. Kizer's actual influence was murky since he took orders from higher ranking members of the commission and wasn't necessarily a decision maker. Kizer oversaw the rapid expansion of the UFC and MMA in the state and pushed for stricter drug testing of athletes including out of competition testing. Kizer personally appointed judge CJ Ross who seemingly sabotaged the last Mayweather fight in order to kill unanimous decision bets for bookies and casinos. Ross has since taken a leave and is not expected to return to judging. She can probably afford not to. Kizer's personal feud with famous MMA referee Big John McCarthy resulted in McCarthy being banned from working in Nevada.

"Nobody wants to fight Khabib [Nurmagomedov]" according to DFW. Suggests that Melendez turned down the fight. DFW tweeted that to Nate Diaz and went on to say Diaz turned down the fight. In true Nate Diaz fashion he tweeted back "@danawhite @ufc are full of shit I didn't turn down anything ... "

Actually the story seems to be that Diaz did turn down the fight. Through his agent he requested a new contract and didn't agree with the date the UFC was setting for the fight. The UFC balked. Diaz is 4-4 in his last eight.

Dan Henderson says the UFC's new contract offer represents a pay cut for Hendo at "quite a bit more" than 50%. They're just not going to pay a guy on the wrong side of 40 when they have so many new champions coming up on big raises. Meanwhile DFW will continue to blow millions on blackjack while talking about the UFC only being solvent since 2007.

There are options Hendo if you think Bellator or WSOF pays better..

At this point in his career, I think a title run is out of the picture for Hendo, but its hard for a competitor to realize that. There are some great fights available to him inside and outside of the UFC. In the UFC, you can put together Hendo/Wanderlei III, Hendo/Shogun, Hendo/Thiago Silva, etc…outside of the UFC you've got Rampage and Tito over in Bellator. I'd love to see Rampage/Hendo II.

Phil Davis is preparing to fight Glover Teixeira for the LHW title, or so he says. He's convinced Tex has JJ's number.

I read that Davis/Shogun was more likely.

TUF winner Julianna Pena wrecked her knee in training and could be out for a long time, sadly, according to her manager.

ACL, MCL, basically anything CL is torn in her knee. Conflicting reports on it being a training injury and an injury sustained in some kind of gym dust-up. Some people are saying that on TUF she was kind of a hysterical and paranoid person? I don't know what to believe yet. Dana White believes she was "attacked" and has declared war on the unnamed training partner. However Dana White has no credibility.

That is kind of a big first match back. You think they would have given him someone a little lower on the totem pole.
