...is AWESOME. We finally have another double figure scorer off the bench. Natebishop, you must be thrilled. McCollum looks so comfortable out there. I'm really excited. He is going to make us sooo much better. I wonder if he can play well enough in the next three weeks to get into the Rising Stars Challenge. Would be great to see he AND Lillard there. Post your thoughts about CJ here..
I'm at my woman's company party so I missed the whole damn game. I'm thoroughly excited to have CJ back though. Having that other threat off the bench is huuuuuuuge. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
He hit two threes, a 2 point jumper, and a floater. Very impressive. You will be happy. Now we may increase leads when we go to the bench. Plus, there is less pressure on Lillard and Wes to play big minutes in order to win.
I'm impressed, for sure. He'll eventually be scouted, but maybe not as the 7th man... He's got a fast release, which is key in his position! His dribble is really odd-looking sometimes but he seems to be in total control over it.
I just like seeing the new rotation with CJ, Mo TRob, Freeland and Nic together and Damian playing more with Wes and the starters. Fresher legs all around that means spark! We're a whole lot deeper than I ever anticipated on the bench. CJ had 6 pts in under 3 minutes in the game. Barton had 10 in 6 minutes not long ago. Crabbe can shoot, Wright is better than he has been recently. Leonard is improving and Earl is the smartest defender at the point on the team. Stotts has quite a roster to rotate.
his shot look strange. Almost reminds me of Derek Anderson or Juan Brixon. Cept I don't cringe and throw shit at the TV when he shoots like I did when those two wastes of roster spots did.
TRob needs to bring his level up and be more consistant if he is going to keep Meyers benched. Otherwise I think Meyers will be in in some games and Robinson in others. I think the team is better when Robinson is getting the time. But he needs to realize his potential and become consistant.
CJ has a higher release point on his shooting form than Lillard, so he should be able to get his shot off easier in traffic. From what I've seen, McCollum starts his shot with the ball above his head and then follows through to release at some around 75 degree angle. Lillard seems to release at more of a 45 degree angle. Between the two, I think Lillard has the quicker release, but it's not like CJ's release is slow.
It's not going to happen this year. Young players playing sporadic minutes are not going to be consistent coming off the bench. Neither he, nor Leonard, nor CJ will be consistent this year. What they can do is bring the energy almost every night, but I would not count on them being effective every single night without more minutes. And they won't get those minutes without an injury to a starter. They can get better, but consistent will be tough IMO.
CJ is going to be a really good player, and he brings something to the table that we currently don't have.... a guard that can consistently hit floaters and finish at the rim.
