Re: Energy Come Back to Defeat Maine 101-94 Maybe if Taj got drafted by Sacramento, he'd suck and be out of the league by now. Cold be the system.
Re: Energy Come Back to Defeat Maine 101-94 Energy played last night and won. Marquis had 15 points in 30 minutes play. 7-15 from the field. 0-1 in 3's, and he made his only FTA, Three rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, two turnovers. For the season he is averaging: Played five games and started all five. Ave 25.8 minutes a game Shooting 50% from the floor. 33% in 3's 2.6 rebounds a game 5.6 assists 0.4 steals 3.20 turnovers a game 13.8 pts a game
The Wolves just sent the Iowa Energy Shabazz Muhammad, who was the 15th pick in the last draft, so Teague has a couple marginal pros to pass too. Jarvis Varnado, the Energy's power forward, I think is on the Celtics roster.
Ya, Shabazz Muhammad scored a lot of points in their win. My guess is that is where Marquis got most of his 9 assists.
The Energy scored 143 points in their win last night. Marquis? 21 minutes, 0-6 from the field. 3-4 from the foul line. Two rebounds, 3 assists. No steals, 2 turnovers.
His team scored 143 points and he didn't make a basket? If the Bulls don't want to tank, there are a lot of teams that do. There ought to be a market for Teague.
There's something wrong with Marquis Teague that has nothing to do with his skills or athleticism. An NBA prospect can't go 0-6 in 24 minutes in the D-League. I saw him in his first game down. He looked six steps more advanced than anybody else on the court for a good portion of it.
Iowa lost last night as Ramon Harris drained a three pointer as time expired. Teague 21 minutes, 7-12 Fgs, 0-1 in 3's. 1-1 Fts, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 turnovers. 15 pts. Kalin Lucas had 9 assists for Iowa.
Iowa won big last night. Teague: 20.36 minutes, 4-11 shooting, 1-2 in threes, no fts, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers, 9 points Kalin Lucas one of the pt guards on their team is 6-1 from Michigan State. He had 18 points, 7-7 Ft's. Shows me he was more aggressive. He had 6 assists and was 5-13 from the field, 1-4 in 3's. 3 rebounds 18 points.
Yeah, it's clear when you watch him that he has a lot of physical talent. But the game just does not come naturally to him at all. That's a huge barrier when you're a PG with no jumpshot or ability to finish.
Just heard on the radio that Teague has been recalled by the Bulls which would explain the DNP. Now we need to find out why the Bulls would want him back on their roster.
Actually, maybe a trade is or was in the works? The Celtics just traded Marshon Brooks and Jordan Crawford to the Warriors. The Warriors were interested in Kirk, if the rumor was true. They probably satisfied their backup guard needs now, though. I'm speculating here, but Dunleavy is a good player on a cheap contract. It seems he'd be valuable to a contender and he wants to play for a contender. If the Bulls move him, presumably for cap space (an expiring contract), then Kirk might play a lot of SG and we'd need someone to play minutes at PG.
