http://www.rds.ca/combat/ufc/la-croisade-continue-1.830402 Retired UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre took aim at the UFC today in an interview with RDS (the French branch of ESPN in Canada). GSP expressed frustration with the UFC's mishandling of his stance against performance enhancing drugs. GSP says a major reason for his retirement was his inability to address the issue of PED's while still an employee of the UFC. He says he will continue to work to help clean up the sport. He says he felt burned by the UFC when he attempted to raise the bar for PED testing prior to his bout with Johny Hendricks only for the UFC to criticise him. He feels the UFC supported Hendricks, who weaselled out of the testing, to the detriment of the sport. GSP says that usage of PED's is serious and widespread. He says that if the testing standards were raised immediately it would tarnish the sport because so many fighters would fail (holy shit). Without going full Jose Canseco he says that within the sport usage of PED's is obvious and endemic. He says the way the UFC handled him is typical in that they attempt to squelch the opinions of their athletes by fining, suspending, and firing on a whim. Without directly saying it GSP seems to be hinting at a long talked about fighters association. Most alarmingly is that GSP says the direction the sport of MMA is going in is "idiotic" and that he could only foresee himself returning to it if major changes were to take place.
I am dumbfounded that there are still people that think GSP has used PEDs during his career when the guy has thrown himself voluntarily to get tested by the highest standards in every fight and pisses CLEAN!

DFW was eager to respond to GSP's comments tonight and classified them as "weird" and "ridiculous". He said that fighters get tested by the commissions and the UFC tests fighters for international events and that fighters get caught. He claims that GSP is saying what he's saying because he's bitter that DFW thought Johny Hendricks beat him. He also said that GSP's comments about PED's are stabbing the current UFC fighters in the back. Finally he said that the UFC isn't a monopoly (it actually isn't) because Viacom has $40-billion (irrelevant).
