http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/...dgers-agree-seven-year-deal-worth-215-million Not unbelievable news but Clayton will not see free agency anytime soon
...I think the Dodgers wanted to lock up Kershaw before the Tanaka deadline. So now that they know how much to offer. If they they had sealed the deal with Tanaka first, Kershaw may have been able to get even more money/years.
I think this means dodgers are out on tanaka and Yankee announcement signing tanaka should be very soon
30 million dollars a year & they give him an opt out clause after 5. Don't these freaking teams EVER learn? So after 5 years he can up his salary & do to the Dodgers what A-Rod did to the Yankees. Un-F'king-believable.
...I don't think resigning Kershaw eliminates the Dodgers from the Tanaka sweepstakes...money is not a problem...they have a bigger TV package than the Yanx.
Good deal for Kershaw and the Dodgers. Saw him being interviewed on MLB a while back and it was obvious he wants to remain a Dodger, everyone is happy. I'd still think they are in on Tanaka and could be looking to make a possible trade for Price.
They could still be in the mix for Tanaka, but unlikely, their payroll for 2014 is through the roof right now.
I can't argue with that. As of now they have about a dozen players that will earn over 10M next season. And those players alone total about 200M. So they're obviously not afraid to spend. Besides something tells me that they're either going to unload Kemp (21M) or Ethier (15.5M). JMO.
