Meyers can shoot, and is learning the Freeland "verticality" defensive style. If Robinson could learn to do that consistently, I think I'd lean towards wanting him to play ahead of Meyers. Right now, I trust Coach Stotts to make the right choice between the two, and I think that it'd be silly to get rid of either one unless circumstances change pretty drastically.

Shooters we have. People who attack the rim we do not. I like that TRob can get to the rim.

Not in this offense. Last night, TRob froze like a deer in the headlights when he needed to take a jump shot. He got the ball back and was finally forced to take, and miss, the shot. He'll never be the outside shooter Leonard already is. I don't believe in square pegs in round holes. Play to your strengths, and continue to improve on your weaknesses.

From what I've heard, Stotts has flat out told Robinson not to shoot that jumper, so that's why we saw him freeze like that. At the beginning of the year he would have jacked that shot without thinking twice, but from what Joel Freeman said, that was something that Stotts specifically talked to him about.

That makes sense. TRob was attempting those jumpers earlier in the season.

I believe that and I thought about it when it happened. It seems that Stotts sat TRob and gave him chapter and verse of what he needed to do differently. Prior to the benching I had noted more than once that TRob wanted to play like a SF, but I thought he should focus on defense, rebounding, and 'garbage' points, and look to pass more. This is largely why I do not believe in this 'not a coincidence' theory. TRob had issues. Since he's been back in the lineup, his play has been quite a bit different than it was previously. His role is more narrow and he seems to be focusing on it. Then came the outside shot on which he would not previously have hesitated. It's all part of the program. I'm down with the program. In Stotts I trust. ;)

Yup. I like that Robinson is looking to pass - he's pretty decent at it. But on that one play I think he took Stotts too literally - nothing was happening on the play and he probably should have taken the elbow jumper the first time it was passed to him, while there was some amount of "rhythm".

Yeah, I don't necessarily have a problem with TRob shooting a couple jumpers. He doesn't have bad form, and if they're in rhythm and he's open, I think he should take them. Instead he just ended up in a situation like last night where he doubted himself.

Is there any way Philly would trade us Spencer Hawes for Meyers and TRob? Maybe give them a second round pick too? I'd look at doing a deal like that where we get a more experienced productive big. I don't think we will want to pick up their option years on rookie contracts that need to be decided on this summer so I'd see if we can flip both of them for a vet that can help us now.

Contract expires at the end of this year. No way we give up on both those guys for a rental. One or the other packaged with someone like Wright and maybe other pieces sure.
