    Ron Tonkin, of Portland-based Ron Tonkin Dealerships, died today. News obituary will be posted this evening.

    He built quite the empire.

    I'll always remember him for jumping off the Blazers bandwagon with his public dissing of the "Jailblazers".

    Willamette is a magical river, the only one in the western hemisphere that flows south to north.

    A few years ago I got to check out his car collection and Ron told us about almost every car. It was amazing.

    Magical like all tributaries of the south side of the Colombia, Snake, and Colorado. The magic is they flow up and you can see on any map.

    But I did buy my first new car from Ron Tonkin.
