Injury Report
Paul Pierce will not play - bruised left hip (but might play tomorrow)
Delonte West will not play - infected toe
Theo Ratliff will not play - sore lower back
Brian Scalabrine will not play - sore shoulder :boogie:
Jared Jeffries will not play - fractured left wrist (out 3-6 weeks)

Keys to the Game
- Perk has to put a body on Curry.
- Stay in front of Starbury/Francis. If they catch you, you'll know about it.
- Without Pierce, Delonte, and Ratliff we need to get a look at the end of the bench. The end of the bench (Luke Jackson, Michael Olowokandi, Leon Powe maybe, Allan Ray, etc.) needs to be productive.

These guys are cousins, so they are always happy to go head-to-head. I think Bassy will elevate his game, like he always does when he plays at home in New York.

CelticBalla's Prediction
Win or lose, who cares. Plus, we are pretty short-handed considering 2 starters (one is our best plater) and our 6th man is out. But I'm predicting a good game from Gerald Green and Sebastian Telfair. I say Bassy because he's having a little homecomming and is playing his cousin. He will elevate his game.

EDIT: Sorry Dogma but there is only a couple hours left until game time, and I'm over-excited to watch basketball tonight. But this is up to you, but I wouldn't mind making all of these game threads, if you don't mind. I like doing it, plus I will never have problems doing them since I am homeschooled. I mean it's up to you, but I'm just throwing that out there.

I was about to make one, but it's okay. god damn it, nba tv isn't showing the game AGAIN. I'm really pissed about this. it's pretty god damned ridiculous.my X factor is Gerald Green. he'll be playing alot, and without Pierce, he'll be shooting alot. I'd expect him to score in the 20s. That, and the fact that no one wearing a knicks jersey will be able to guard him. like honestly, Quentin Richardson? Jalen Rose? can you say hayday?

Dogma, just so you don't get mad every night about NBA TV not playing the Celtics lol, here is the NBA TV schedule:

http://www.nba.com/schedules/national_tv_schedule/NBATV/

But update from Celtics Tonight on FSN:

- Allan Ray is starting tonight
- Michael Olowokandi is starting tonight

It will be nice to see O out there, but come on! Start Gerald Green over Allan Ray.

judging from the boxscore:-allan ray hasn't played well at all. 1-11 formt he field. 3 PF's. 3 TO's. can you go more into this cb32? I don't know what seems to be the problem with him.-Rondo playing beastly again, although most has come in a sudden burst towards the end of the game. 14 points, 7 assists, 3 steals, 4 rebounds.-perk was apperently a beast. 10 boards in only 15 minutes. I hope he starts this year.-Gerald Green only playing 8 minutes, no clue why. however, he mannaged to get 7 shots off to score 7 points.

Allan Ray was very nervous. As I expect him to be. That's why he couldn't hit a shot for his life. Rondo continues to play good, can't say enough about him. Perk was solid, but I want him to be more aggressive and when he has an easy shot, to dunk as hard as he can and send a message. But 10 boards and 4 blocks is as good as it gets.

Ray did struggle, but he made some excellent passes in transition. Yes Rondo was a beast. But I don't know where you are getting your stats from, Perk played 24 minutes and Gerald played 20. Here's my nightly recap:

There are 2 reasons why we lost this game - rebounding and fouls. Mind you, anybody that watched this game will tell you that the refs called way too many ticky-tack fouls, but come on man they were horrible. I don't usually revert to stats to tell an outcome of a game, but tonight is an exception:

Rebounds
Knicks - 52
Celtics - 34

Free Throws
Knicks - 54 FTA
Celtics - 36 FTA

Player analysis':

Rajon Rondo
14 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals on 7-11 shooting. And get this - he actually had 2 turnovers tonight! That totals to 5 turnovers in 135 minutes (excellent). But anyway, Rondo was a monster. Wait until you see the highlights! He had a 1 handed putback dunk over 2 Knicks! Then it gets better, on the inbound 2 seconds after that dunk he stole the ball, made a layup, and got fouled. The dunk and that play all happened within 6 seconds. He played pretty good defense, set up Perk and Al for some easy buckets, and he got to the bucket at will in the 2nd half. Another excellent game for Rajon Rondo. I am in love with this kid!

Ryan Gomes
He hit his 18 footer nicely and of course he hustled. Typical Ryan Gomes night, but he did not do very well defensively on Channing Frye.

Kendrick Perkins
6 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 or 3 excellent passes tonight. Perk played very well. Eddy Curry caught him a couple times in the paint with a post move, but overall Perk was excellent tonight.

Sebastian Telfair
Bassy started off extrodinarily! If my memory serves correctly, he scored our first 9 points of the ballgame. He really elevates his game when he plays at Madison Square Garden (afterall, he is from Coney Island and he gets to go head-to-head with his cousin Stephon Marbury). He had 14 points and a few nice passes, in only 17 minutes. If you are wondering why he only played 17 minutes, it's because he didn't play the entire second half because he wasn't feeling well. In fact, he didn't even come back to the bench, he stayed in the locker room. But hopefully he is ok and ready for tomorrow.

Tony Allen
Finally a solid game for TA. 18 points on 4-8 shooting (and 9-11 FT). But I will admit he did look sloppy at first, his defense wasn't as good as it normally is, and he missed some easy layups. But this was easily his outing of the preseason so far. Solid game for TA.

Wally Szczerbiak
Wally played pretty well. He shot the ball alright, he missed some open jumpers but overall he did well. Typical Wally - 18 points, 4 rebounds.

Al Jefferson
Big Al didn't play well offensively. He got 6 points, but 4 of them were wide open dunks off feeds from Rondo. The stat sheet says he shot 3-8, to me it's really more like 1-6 since he got 2 easy wide open dunks. He rebounded fairly well and he was pretty mobile, but again - not a good offensive night for Al.

Michael Olowokandi
O played pretty well for the time he was in there (12-13 minutes). He started the game and did real well against Curry actually. He was hustling and very active, and he did pretty well on the boards. Good job O. He is pretty much a lock to make this team, IMO.

Allan Ray
He started and played 26 minutes, but he had a rough night shooting the ball. He did well in transition and made some real pretty passes, but Dogma already said it - 1 for 11 from the feild, and it was something like 1-8 from three. I wouldn't worry, we all know he's an excellent shooter. It just wasn't his night.

Gerald Green
Gerald played 20 minutes tonight (thank god, Doc made up for only playing him 5 the other night @ vs. Cleveland). Defensively, he caused some problems for Richardson and contested a lot of shots. He had a pretty nice block in the 2nd or 3rd quarter as well. Gerald scored 7 points, grabbed 2 boards, and dished 3 assists tonight. He shot 3-8 but he really got his shot off well. His first bucket was my favorite because he moved without the ball and cut to the basket for a nice little 8 foot shot (he hung in the air for lke 20 seconds, then released lol). But the moving without the ball part is what I liked the most. I think Gerald played a pretty solid game tonight, and I really like what he did defensively.

Luke Jackson
Luke only played 6 minutes tonight, and he only got 1 shot (which was a 3, and he hit it). I would really like to get a better look at him tomorrow night.

Pittsnogle only played 1 minute, Akingbala only played for the final 17 seconds of the game, and Powe didn't play AGAIN. And of course, Pierce (resting), Delonte (infected toe), Ratliff (lower back), and Scal (shoulder) didn't play tonight. But Pierce is expected to most likely give it a go tomorrow night, and he said Wally might sit out (just to rest and not rush into a back-to-back). So if Wally doesn't play tomorrow, don't get worried it's just precautionary. Also, Pierce said that if tonight was a regular season game he definitely would have played. I'm not sure when Delonte or Theo will be back, and to be honest with you I wouldn't care if Scal got SARS.

Tomorrow night, we play our first game at home at the Garden vs. the Nets (without Marcus Williams, by the way).

Actually, I got my stats from NBA.com, so I have no idea why you saw different stats than I did.

yeah, I just looked now, and they're accurate, but when I made my post, the stats weren't accurate, I guess due to the game not being finished (there was less than a minute left.
