2-2 is still a great trip. Yes, we all want 4-0 because of how well the previous two games went, but Houston and Oklahoma City are both very capable of beating us. Houston is one of the most difficult arenas for us to play in over the past decade and you know OKC doesn't want to go down 3-0 in the season series (that will also be our fourth game in five nights). I think if we beat Houston we go 4-0 and if we lose to Houston we go 2-2 on this trip.

God, it's you again. I have no idea why you're always so aggressive. I'm not saying that you're a prick, just that your posts to me always sound like a prick wrote them. One could easily be fooled that a prick writes your posts. I am criticizing your posts, not you.

Lopez said (I think it was on the Comcast site) that he felt honored that when Olshey traded for him, he told him he was the starter. Period. Lopez said he had never been the flat-out permanent starter before. He took it very seriously, and is playing beyond what everyone thought was his potential.

All this because I praised someone in this thread for noting that a major cause of our winning is that the players are playing one game at a time. What's the next detail you'll jump on? Will you throw a tantrum because I misspelled a word?

Time to put on the big boy pants. This is an online discussion group. You post bullshit, you can expect to get called on it. If that makes me a prick (or just someone who posts like a prick, but is really Albert Schweitzer in real life) in your opinion, I can live with that. I simply posted a correction to an error in your first post, and then you felt the need to make up an entire line of bullshit defending your error. Not one thing you said in that second post was true. It was a complete fabrication. I'm not saying you're full of bullshit, you just post like someone who's full of bullshit.

To make you happy in your sourpuss little room of irrelevant details, I'll try not to 1) praise points made by other posters like Paxil or 2) feel joy about Blazers winning. God, what prick-like posts our self-proclaimed Albert Schweitzer writes. Not saying the poster's a prick. He's Albert Schweitzer.

Re: So, About that Midwest Rhomboid Trip

Nobody has a problem with you praising anyone. BNM's only problem is with inaccuracy. In his initial response to your "he's never been the starter unless injury forced it" statement, all he did was point out that Lopez had started last year, and asked you what injury forced that. You had every opportunity to say "my bad, I overlooked last year"--instead, you either invented support or posted speculation as fact. Either way--you were wrong, refused to admit you were wrong, attempted (poorly) to defend your wrongness, and got called out for it.

Don't like it? Develop some humility. Here's an example of what it looks like. http://sportstwo.com/threads/247180-Welcome-to-Hell-Blazer-fans.?p=3231954&viewfull=1#post3231954

Please show me anything I've ever posted that said you, or anyone else, should not praise other posters or feel joy about the team winning. Just more fabricated bulllshit.

    Have a nice day!

On to your next victim! How about picking on PapaG again?

My father had 2 comebacks when I flooded him with detailed critique.

    1. Go chase your face.
    2. Your mother's calling you.

Your choice! Which should I use on you?

Re: So, About that Midwest Rhomboid Trip

Midwest Division never made sense for the Texas teams anyway, as none of them are located in the geographic Midwest region. The original Midwest Division had true Midwestern teams like Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit and eventually Indiana. The NBA/ABA merger kind of screwed things up as they ended up with the Texas teams in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference - the Spurs/Rockets and eventually Mavs were in the same division as the Baltimore Bullets. What was even more weird was the Spurs were in the Eastern Conference at the same time the Pistons were in the Western Conference. It's like no one in the league office ever bothered to look at a map when they aligned the divisions. At one pint, the Midwest Division consisted of the Bulls, Bucks, Pistons and Suns. One of these things is not like the others.

Not sure why you feel compelled to drag a 3rd party onto this. But, it's ironic that I did correct a error by PapaG in the post immediately after I corrected your error. The difference is he didn't play the victim card. He graciously acknowledged the mistake and asked the mods to change the thread title from Midwest to Southwest (which they did).

For future reference, that's the way grown ups play.

I read this post, then you edited it and I just noticed it. So are you Tantrum's little brother? His modus operandi is to quibble over some parenthetical point, then to become enraged when someone treats it as the minor objection it is, unrelated to the main point. I didn't know you two share the same meds bottle.

By the way, "calling out" is not the same as "proving." Tantrum Boy simply "opined" that had Davis been healthy, Lopez would have still started at center. You seem to think that Tantrum's opinion is the Divine Word.

So, when exactly were you planning to acknowledge your erroneous interpretation of Net On/Off? ;)

Oh yeah, I forgot that jerky little post claiming I made an error. I made no error. I was reflecting what Lopez said--that when Olshey told him he would definitely start, it was the first time he had had that feeling in the NBA. He felt honored and has played better than expected. My context was to give examples of why our players are playing one game at a time instead of their eyes glazing over with overconfidence.

The reference to talking like a gentleman is a copy of what I once told you in the past. Apparently you've been saving that for revenge.

Tantrum Boy? No one with that username has posted in this thread. So, I can only assume this is your attempt at childish name calling. Way to keep it classy.

I didn't "quibble" or "opine" about anything. I pointed out a factual error - that Robin Lopez started all 82 games last season. You then made up a bunch of random shit to try to save face, rather that admit your error. It's not my opinion that Lopez started on opening night when Davis was healthy. It's a fact. Here's the box score that proves it. Lopez did not get the starting center job in New Orleans because Davis was injured. He was the starting center on opening night - before Davis' first injury - and every game after that regardless of Davis' health.

I never became "enraged". You're the one who likes to toss out words like prick and asshole when someone has the temerity to correct one of your many factual errors.

It was, in fact an error. Here's exactly what you wrote:

The bolded part simply is not correct. Lopez started all 82 games last season (as I pointed out in my original response) and it had nothing to do with any injury to another player.

You added the part about Lopez' "feelings" three or four posts later.

And Lopez playing better than expected is subjective. This is EXACTLY what some of us expected when we acquired him, based on the fact that he was coming off a career year in New Orleans (PER = 18.9 as a 24-year old starting center).
