I would think today or tmo will be announcement as contract language and more importantly physicals need to be finalized. I still say between yanks and dodgers and yanks will go the extra mile to simply outbid everyone for him.
I was right on years and the closest on the amount of money... thankfully I was wrong on the team though
What the #&%@ an opt out clause? What the hell is wrong with these stupid $*^%@$-%*%@^#* Don't they ever ^($@&*$ learn. Didn't the ^(#%*@% bull%*$# with A-Rod & CC teach them anything. I mean holy ^($@&#% hell.
no... they didn't learn... but if he does opt out of earning $22M/year (as it was point out on another thread), it means he had been dominant... so I'd take that if we came to that... but I agree... I HATE opt outs...
So there's a chance that after 4 years of 22M he could opt out & end up with 25-28M. What a totally screwed up system.
And I can't blame him for accepting it in his contract... question is did he demand it or did the Yankees just offer it?
...that's not the case according to MLB...there were several clubs in on the bidding and the Cubs offered $150 Mil....the Yanx countered with $155 Mil and and opt out...not big deal IMO...I mean the Dodgers did pretty much the same thing with Kershaw.
I know the opt out clause may be a great selling point but I think the practice should be banned. These selfish money hungry bastards make enough money, why give them the licence to financially rape a team for more. Both A-Rod & CC have pretty much stopped earning there big contracts after they re-upped with there stupid clauses.
