This guy has played AMAZING so far in preseason. I think he's already ready for the pro's. He just needs to work on some things like defense. What else you guys think about him?

LMAO you are quite the idiot if you think Rondo has to work on defense. Haha are you serious?

By the way, there are like 3 other threads that talk about Rondo a lot, so check them out.

Well Rondo isn't the greatest defensive player. If you look at him play, he's a little sloopy. If he played D-West like, then that isn't something big.

defense is the best part of his game...he just needs to work on having a consistent jump shot

I saw him play tonight for the first time and I had mixed emotions. In the first half, he seemed very tentative and he put himself in bad situations by getting himself caught in the air. Doc must have had a talk with him because in the second half, he was much more controlled, played great defense, had some good passes, and was all over the place. He's definitely got alot of potential. How about Leon Powe though? 11 points and 15 boards. Great game.(I just got NBA League Pass so that is why this is my first game to see this year)

well clangus, I guess you're just going to have to deal with it.imo, he's the best pg in the draft. Randy Foye might be the better scorer, but Rondo has just about everything else on him.I too saw him tonight. He played decent. He definitely had some flashes of pure brilliance tho. very encouraging.

Madness, come on bro, don't use the same sig that I have (that I actually requested).

Rondo is an EXCELLENT defensive player. Which game are you watching? I have watched him in college, all 5 preseason games, and 2 summer league games - he is a gifted defender. He harrasses people by staying in front of them, he slaps EVERY ball away that is within reach (which is a pretty long reach), and he rotates well off switches. I don't understand what the hell you are talking about by saying he isn't a very good defender, and anyone that's seen him play will back me up on this one.

He did not just have 1-2 good games in preseason, he's had 4 and a half (lol, 4 and a half because he started off slow tonight). He's been excellent every night.

Yeah, Rondo made some mistakes in the beginning (but trust me, every Celtic did). The first half of tonight wasn't the best for Rondo, yet still solid, but those couple mistakes he made early on were rare. He had 5 turnovers in his first 135 minutes in preseason, he had about 3 tonight, but overall Rondo did pretty well.

And Powe was a moster on the boards tonight.

Get used to it, he's been excellent.

OK, it's not like they are just threads of people gushing over Rondo. One is about a great highlight and getting #1 on SportsCenter - no problem there. Another is an article from Celtics.com - again, no problem there. And this one is someone asking about him, which I could understand maybe this one wasn't needed because of the other talk about him, but still not a big deal.

If Bargnani was playing this good and people made topics about him, you wouldn't complain.

Ok...this guy is good - but keep in mind it is the preseason...and yes, you guys are overrating him...I mean regarding scoring...he isn't really that great. Rajon averages about 15 points per game so far.Jason Maxiel - who was picked very low in the draft, not many people even know who he is averages 14.3 ppg...so...basically stop talking about him so much, because he isn't amazing like you guys are making him out to be...he isnt a steal either.

he isn't a steal? haha, he's obviously a steal. his scoring was the least praised of his qualities. We emphasized him having great defense, which he definitely has, and great playmaking ability, which he has definitely shown. The scoring is just a bonus right now. not to mention his composure. he has a very low number of turnover's in about starter's minutes, and he has attributed toa fourth quarter comeback win.he has the perfect combination of heart and composure, imo.

If people start making topics about a player evertime they make the news then this forum would run out of room. You guys are getting Hard over preseason performance. Like Reppin said alot of unknown players are putting up the same numbers.Marcus Williams from the Nets is averaging 15 and 7.7 in the preseason. Better than Rondo - I dont see nets fans wetting themselves.

I haven't seen him play in the preseason yet, but judging by the games I saw him play in at Kentucky, this guys defense is great, just his jumper is well, umm not so good.
