If people start making topics about a player evertime they make the news then this forum would run out of room. You guys are getting Hard over preseason performance. Like Reppin said alot of unknown players are putting up the same numbers.Marcus Williams from the Nets is averaging 15 and 7.7 in the preseason. Better than Rondo - I dont see nets fans wetting themselves.</div>he was talking to raptorsfan about the bargnani thing. same goes for you if it happened to Saer Sene ([IMG]). Yes, Marcus Williams was having a great preseason, but honestly, how many hardcore nets fans are there here? not too many, I can think of nitro only. it's not like a fan of another team is going to be excited about someone else's rookie. and seriously, how many times do I have to say it? IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT HIS STATS!!! We said he was also playing smart and with great defense. so you bringing up marcus' 15 and 7 is just dumb. you failed to mention that he is also averaging 4.0 turnovers.

Reppin, Rajon Rondo isn't a steal? LOL

People look at a box score, then you say "he's averaging 15 ppg, but he's a terrible scorer!" See, that's one mistake - you go by what the scouts tell you. Rondo is not a great shooter, 100% agreed. But he can get to the rack nicely with his ballhandling skills and blazing speed. He has a soft touch around the rim, and I know for a fact a lot of you won't know this: Rondo has an excellent floater. It's no Tony Parker or Ben Gordon, but it's nice. Rajon is also pretty good at drawing fouls.

So yeah, Rondo isn't a great shooter, but he can score in other ways. And at the same time, like dogma said the scoring is a bonus because he doesn't even look to score. He's a pass-first PG, and a good one.

We are overrating him? Hmmm. I don't think so:

    - He's super quick
    - He's an excellent defender
    - He is long
    - He has great hands
    - He is a good playmaker with good vision
    - He is an extrodinary rebounder for his size
    - He can penetrate
    - He's a smart player
    - He limits turnovers
    - He keeps his composure at all times
    - He runs
    - He's very mature for his age
    - He works hard

You read all that, then you say "wow, you are overrating him." Really? Watch him play, he does all of that every night. His only major weakness is his shooting, honestly.

And to not call Rajon Rondo a steal in this years' draft is absolutely crazy. Even NBA GM's around the league called Rondo the steal of the first round back in summer league! Then you factor in that he's really elevated his game in preseason.

It may be preseason, sure, but this kid can play, and the qualities he has overall as a player = awesome.

And yeah, Marcus Williams is averaging 15 and 7, but everyone was talking about him as the best PG in the draft around draft day. Also note that he turns the ball over, he's not a good defender, not in great shape, and he can shoot but he's a bit streaky.

Jason Maxiell - 14 ppg or whatever you said. That's great. But you can't look at a stat sheet and say Marcus Williams or Jason Maxiell are better than Rajon Rondo, or equal. You have to watch the kid play, WHICH I GUARENTEE ALL OF YOU WHO ARE BASHING US HERE, HAVE NOT SEEN RONDO PLAY!. The intangibles Rajon brings to the table are extrodinary, I don't care if some of you think we are overrating him, because with the way he's played - we really are not. At all.
