...yeah , I was thinking maybe 6 years/120 might get it done...not gonna complain but I'm sure there will predictably those who will.

...been saying all along that 189 was not gonna happen...and now that it's in the rear view mirror, hopefully they will continue to spend.

...yup, like I said, there will always be those who like to find fault in virtually everything the Yanx do, no matter what.

...this take a lot of the sting out of losing Cano...he's now a distant memory.

...also liking the idea that Nova is now probably our #4...looking much better.

...meh, the Dodgers did it with Kershaw...it mostly helps to keep the salary down a bit. If he does opt out after 4 years, it means he's been dominant, and I'll take 4 years of dominant pitching any day.

yeah, and after the 4 years, I believe there will be no more contracts for CC, A-Rod, Tex, etc. to straddle the team...

I am very happy, and as I have said all along, now Balfour please, and Drew... I feel that the Yankees by getting Tanaka now assume they are in the hunt, which will dictate other moves now that 189 is over.

As I predicted all the way back on 1/13 that yankees will not be outbid. LOL. And Cashman once again does what he does best. Write a bigger check than the competition. That being said not crazy about the option after 4 years but if he opts out it will mean he's been pretty good and we'll just resign for another 5 or 6 years. Whats not being said also is the huge marketing plus this will be for the yanks with Kuroda, Ichiro and now Tanaka here. Japan loves their baseball and mlb and every set will be tuned into the yankees. Will probably pay for that contract many times over. And lastly now that their over the 189 they will probably crush it with Balfour, drew and depending how stiff that tex wrist is maybe morales. This is why I love being a yankee fan. Eat it the rest of you mlb whiners. The Yanks are back.
