Hammer, great job on the Tanaka prediction thread you had the years and were only off 5 mil... I'll have Rick forward you the Golden Cheetos Award, better luck getting out of him because he sandbagged 59... 59 has hired Tacopina to handle this issue.
My only issue with Balfour (aside from the ball four jokes that will come) is that Baltimore walked away from a deal... I'm just worried that they might know something that hasn't been made public yet... I'm just wondering what that is... I agree about Drew and would add Morales...
...in that case, you should forfeit your bag of Chee-tos and relinquish them to their proper owner....me.
Bingo: remembering my days in the Far East that market will certainly take care of salaries, baseball is huge!
I remember Balfours situation being discussed on MLB after he failed the Baltimore Orioles Physical. I don't remember the exact details went into the TV room to retrieve something and I guess the Orioles had concerns over different body parts. Tried to find it in print but to no avail. Allegedly the Nationals are interested. If the Yankees decide to give him a shot they need to insure his physical shows he's pure as the driven snow. If he did make the team he and McCann would be quite the pair.
Good to know. Thanks... Ok, so it isn't shoulder, but wrist and knee... either way, it was possible/probable health issue which made one team walk away and no one has gotten serious with him since... so why should we? Can we afford him if the injury were to happen, sure, but should they take another risk like they seem to do every year (see Youkilis last year)...
Buster Olney " The red flags that came up about Grant Balfour's physical state were about his wrist and knee, and not about his shoulder."
...oh, I think someone will certainly take a chance on him...why not the Yanx? ...offered 2 years/$15 Mil from the O's....not sure what he'd be willing to settle for now.
I guess.... But he's 36 and if the injury was going to affect him this year, he'd be 37 next year, it's not like he's 26... I just don't want to see another Youkilis signing...
Hopefully he doesn't completely bust on the big New York stage. Sorry somebody had to say it. It's good Kuroda is going to be around to mentor him in his first year in America.
