Re: NBA Scout talks about Denvers SG's. One thing that would help take pressure off Anthony would be to complement him with a reliable shooting guard. I don't know why they didn't fill that need. They're going to try to plug young J.R. Smith into that role, but you're rolling the dice by asking someone that young to fill such a big hole on a team that's trying to reach the playoffs. Smith has excellent shooting range but suffers from bad-shot selection. He's going to have to learn that the same shot can be good or bad depending on the situation: If the team hasn't scored four possessions in a row and he's jacking up a three, then that's not a good shot, but if they're making a run and he hits a three to put the dagger in then, that is a good shot. That's the kind of education you don't get from playing in high school ... Dermarr Johnson can shoot it a bit, but he's a 6-9 guy who plays like he's 6-5. He doesn't post up when he has a smaller guy on him, which means he's a tease at his height -- though you have to give him a lot of credit for coming back from the horrible car accident he was in a few years ago ... Julius Hodge could find minutes at shooting guard, though he's one of their many guys who can't shoot ... NBA Scout from SI.com's NBA Preview http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketbal...es/nuggets.html I thought Tony would be interested in this. Although Diawara isn't included.
