For the record: Here's the wins in their month of January Clevland, Atlanta, GS, Miami all at home Atlanta, NY on the road Orlando and Dallas at home. So they lose to the two teams they were supposed to (GS and Miami) they have lost a grand total of 3 games in that cake schedule. So...
They are 1.5 games ahead and all without Westbrook. That is some serious work being done by Durant and company.
You forgot their win in OKC on 1/2 (definitely not a game they were supposed to win). Based on record, they also were "supposed to" lose to Atlanta at least once, and Dallas as well. As of 12/31, they would only have been favored in 3 of the games on their "cake schedule" (v CLE, v ORL, and either v ATL or @ NYK depending on how significant you view HCA to be). They are performing at a much higher level now than you give them credit for. (Now that I've defended them so vehemently, they'd better finish off this game in Boston...)
The Thunder are not getting past the second round without Westbrook. Having Durant fling up 30 shots a night on a team by team basis is fine. But in a 7 game series against a team dedicated to shutting down Durant? It'll be LeBron in Cleveland all over again.
