Meh. He definitely trolls for responses. I suppose I'm more surprised he was suspended for this one, while other numerous previous posts drew no action (and were mostly ignored by most of the board). I guess maybe after someone does something over and over, it's time to say enough is enough. I don't really think you can beat Sly up over this one.
It bothers me when someone is punished like that. Have rules and follow them. I prefer no rules but that isn't how it goes. If you have rules and you let someone slide... A. Don't wait until you get fed up and overreact B. Act surprised when that person gets pissed about being punished for far less than he/she or especially any other person would get punished for.
I get it. I don't think Sly was acting surprised, though. He just said that RoyToy was overreacting. It's not like RoyToy didn't immediately create a new name and logon, and continued the conversation. But I don't agree that RoyToy got punished for doing less than any other person gets punished for. You have to look at RoyToy's entire body of work. That's what Sly suspended RT for. Not for one single comment. The mods let a lot of shit slide. But there's a point at which people need to be reigned in. It is funny to see people get so worked up over it. If you're getting suspended from THIS board, it's time for you to put down the computer for a bit, take a deep breath, and walk away. It's an internet message board. Getting upset, creating a new name, and continuing to bark just exacerbates things.
A. A one day suspension is hardly overreacting. B. Not surprised. We have previously suspended/banned members who repeatedly troll the forum. Mixum and OdenIsGod are two examples.
I don't give a shit either way but that was my point. Body of work means nothing to me. If I do 5 over the limit every day for ten years and get pulled over by a cop who noticed me do it every day should he give me a 10000 dollar ticket? Is that ok if he got fed up with my constant speeding? Seems out of line to me.
The guy is pretty much the definition of a troll. He never shows face when things are going good, just likes to pile on when we play like shit. He's got this weird obsession with Batum as well. Almost like Batum fucked his sister and his girlfriend at the same time.
But isn't the point RoyToy is making is that he's sped before, other people speed too, why should he get a normal ticket with a reduced fine.
I don't think you get it. A one day suspension is nothing. Nobody cares. It wasn't deserving based on the actual behavior. Doesn't matter what the length or severity is. Bringing up Mixum is further proof that you didn't catch my drift. If BGD wrote that the warriors are better is he suspended? Kingspeed? Crandc?
You're not helping, lol. I have no problem discussing this. Taking shots at people who are asking questions will only turn this ugly.
That would be a valid point he is making if you can point out a post of his that is deserving of a suspension on its own merit. Find one and then post why he wasn't suspended then. If you can't then I would argue that he is admitting to something he didn't do to further his defense. In my opinion a person is free to approach the line all they want without crossing it. If you want to pick something up at the store and ALMOST stick it in your pocket and walk out with it that is fine with me. The day you actually do steal you are going to jail.
Bullshit. Learn the game then post? Crandc isn't a troll in any way shape or form but pisses me off with about 20 percent of her posts. If I were a mod I could just suspend her then?
There's a difference of opinion and then there's constantly stirring the pot throwing the same shit against the wall every time you post in an abrasive way. He knows he's a troll.
No, I think she is expressing her opinion. Sometimes that pisses people off (See last week's LMA debate between members for example) but that isn't trolling. To be perfectly honest I troll the forum all the time. I try to do it to humorously but sometimes I cross a line. But I'll be the first to admit that I do it and if I cross that line I'll apologize for it. It's when people almost always post to provoke a reaction that I have a problem with. RoyToy is one of those people. IMO, he posts to spin people up.
