Before i clicked in this thread, I was convinced i was about to wander into some sort of Rush Limbaugh-ish "IM MOVING CUZ OBAMA" thread...

But anyways, Mexico still has some gang activity, which is why I really don't want to visit. I had lived in Mexico City for about 2 years before moving back when my neighbor was shot.

Mexico has temporarily legalized certain citizen vigilante groups - the news just came out yesterday. That is sweet! Let's start a revolution!

It was bizarre, dude. Some of the guys had automatic rifles. Most were pretty friendly, but it was still pretty fucking odd.

Its pretty typical, especially in Acapulco to see trucks with army guys with machine guns. Just everywhere, walking down the street and shit. I remember we went out with some bodyguards and a school bus was blocking our way and the guy got out and waved a fucking gun at the school bus to tell them to get the fuck out the way.

I've have some wild nights in TJ/Rosarito. Legendary shit that gets brought up anytime me and my homies from college get back together. They were some good fucking times.

oh yeah, in Cabo, the "Happy Ending Bar" is fucking awesome. Its a pretty divey bar in downtown. 3 shots of tequila and 3 beers for $15. Met some pretty hot locals there. :MARIS61: Way better than the spring break clubs and crap. I met Sammy Hagar at Cabo Wabo there too which was pretty cool.

Sammy is cool. Briefly got to meet him through work. I'm helping him get a vineyard project he is trying to get rolling with a well-known winery in Napa. If I can make it happen, one of his business associates says I'll get a pretty sweet hook-up, whatever the fuck that means.

Cabo is cool. I just prefer some of the areas outside resort towns. It's just they ain't what they used to be, at least from what I've been told by friends. It could just be we're getting older, though.

I think we should all move there, have babies to gain immigration status, and smoke and drink the cheap weed and booze.

We shall call it New Beaverton.

Cabo is definitely different than it was 20 years ago! I liked it better then when it was cheaper and not as commercialized. I still like it though.

You mean the one you made about La Pine (average age of population 60 yo) being Meth Central?

We don't need to talk about it. It speaks for itself.
