It is a lame excuse. Each team goes through rough patches during the season. Gotta be ready to roll with the punches.

Again, he's already going to be there, and he's already going to make appearances for adidas. Playing in the game as a reserve isn't going to add much to his weekend. Would I like if he had the time off during the game? I guess. Would I rather him be an AS since he's going to be there anyhow? Yes. Would I prefer he had an entire week off to rest up and recharge his batteries? Obviously, but that isn't an option.

Based on what? We haven't pounded anyone in the last two weeks - even longer than that at home. We've put teams away late, but we are consistently getting lit up in the 1st quarter at home, giving teams confidence and letting them hang around all night.

We beat SA, and pounded Dallas. Haven't had time off to practice or rest since. 8 games in 12 nights. It takes it's toll physically and mentally. They need to stay home tomorrow. Don't even go to the practice facility unless it's to get treatment.

Golden State lost tonight to the Bullets. These things happen in the NBA, and the marathon is making the playoffs. At that point, you don't play back-to-backs. You're on target with your fatigue posts. It's obvious to most who closely watch the NBA that teams get tired when the schedule compacts.

It's actually 9 games in 14 nights, too, which matters when you consider the team didn't get home until well after midnight yesterday, and had 36 hours or so until tonight's game.

Well, I think some people felt like we were playing above our heads at the beginning of the season, and they were probably right. I still think we're probably going to end up 4th or 5th in the west, which was my prediction before the season started. We're a good team, I don't think we have the defense or bench to compete at the same level as San Antonio or OKC, but I think we're going to get out of the first round and how deep we go in the playoffs depends greatly on who we play. There's nothing wrong with that though. The team is playing much better than most people thought. We're going through a bit of a slump right now, but that's common for shooting teams. We were riding high when our shot was falling, and we're having a tough time when our shots don't fall. Hopefully Stotts can't make some adjustments when we actually get some time off.

Or as I mentioned in another thread, we're actually trying to make Barkley a genius?

Wesley matthews did not shoot the ball until the 2nd quarter. with Lillard and Batum in shooting slumps, it seems he should be featured as our 2nd scoring option.

Mo, thanks for the timely, careless turnovers!

Nice post. Good teams do go through slumps and we will weather this. I still hope we're looking for help on the trade front.

Still proud of LA. His teammates have mailed it in but he continues to ball.

Just watched the pure and Warriors games........shit happens. Ugly loss tonight by our Blazers, but these slumps happen over the course of 82. How can some of you now realize this.

Sorry, but this is a really dumb take. As of last night, the Blazers had played 8 games in 12 nights. The Grizzlies played 5 games in the same time period. When the Blazers were blown out by the Warriors in the last game, they had played 7 games in 10 nights while the Warriors had played 5 games over that time period. The greater amount of time that the Blazers may have had between games earlier in the season helped in getting the season record where it is today, but those extra days off in December do nothing towards resting tired legs right now.

Well yes the Blazers have had more games in the last few weeks, but for the year they have played the same as all the other teams. When the Blazers barely beat a Clippers team in overtime they were rested while the Clippers were on a back to back. When we beat Boston and Cleveland this month they were on back to backs while the Blazers weren't.

So over the course of the year these things average out. All teams have played the same games in total, so to use it as an excuse for losses.... well then we should consider it as reason earlier in the year the team got a number of their wins.

Apparently you missed this part: "The greater amount of time that the Blazers may have had between games earlier in the season helped in getting the season record where it is today, but those extra days off in December do nothing towards resting tired legs right now."

Ding ding ding! Yup - if we're putting asterisks next to these losses then some of those wins also need 'em.

We need the graphic that shows the number of 4 games in 5 nights, etc. the Blazers have this year compared to other teams, and on the road no less. Plus we have extra travel due to our distance from other teams. No, all schedules are not created equal. And of course you are right: certain stretches are worse/more difficult than others. We aren't talking about the entire season anyway, where things might generally even out. Just this particular grueling stretch of games with no time to rest or practice.
