Due to a rather large number of PMs we've received from multiple different members complaining about the forum not being fun due to BF's presence, a number of PMs exchanged with her with no satisfactory change, and after long discussions by all of the Blazer mod staff we feel that she is too disruptive so I have banned her. I'm posting this here in the main forum but will move it to the off topic section after a few hours. Thanks, Sly.
That seems to be the best reason I can think of: disrespectful to people (not posts) in arguing points aggressively (not conversationally). On the other hand, she served as a great reminder that people we thought were all about attracting attention to themselves were in fact pretty mild, all things considered. I'm not too concerned about the ban after thinking about her delivery and how it was sometimes very insulting on a personal level, but I will admit I was surprised by the original post in this thread, and its reasoning. I suppose this is a nice little message that the tyranny of the uberhomer is over.
differing opinions are fine IMO.. the inability to deliver that opinion without attacking someone/mocking the actual poster, is not fine. BlazerCaravan's post sums up alot of how I feel.
I'll miss BF's input to the threads. There are worse things being bantered around but once I discovered the ignore function, they ceased to bother me much. Couldn't these multiple people have just ignored her threads if it cut into their fun? She has pretty thick skin when she's been attacked by misogynistic guys here. Are there any female mods that were involved in this decision? Anyway, it's your ball guys. I'll just sit here on the bench.
I liked having her opinions, but I didn't like how she got abusive towards those whom she disagreed. Too bad, a little adjustment on her part and she could have been a great addition around here, but she seemed unwilling to temper her attitude.
Meh. She was obviously a big blazer fan, but I had gotten to the point where I just skipped over her posts because they were nonsensical and usually attacking some poster or person in the media.
Good summation. I enjoy differing opinions because if everyone was the same, how boring. However, it often seemed to come across so dismissive of anyone else's thoughts or input and that if you disagreed with her take you were just an idiot. Fairly easy to see where that takes some of the fun of it out.
