Since things are a little slow, pick your favorite top 5 players that you've actually seen play.

    1) Willie McCovey
    2) Mickey Mantle
    3) Willie Mays
    4) Joe Pepitone
    5) Bobby Bonds

    In no particular order/rank....

    Griffey Jr
    Mo
    Jeter
    Ripken jr
    Boggs
I'd love to add Donnie, but he ranks behind the afore mentioned 5... & Gwynn....

    Jeter
    Mo
    Munson
    Guidry
5 is a tie: Posada, Williams, ONeill, Nettles and Reggie

Best Yankee Game ever attended: 2000 WS Game 1, left bleachers next to the spot they launched the eagle from.

I had 2.5 non-Yankees of the 5... Boggs was a brief Yankee hence the half, but still... Ripken Jr. & Griffey Jr. were also on my list.. ;)

I actually understood your intent, and I answered truthfully. I can appreciate guys on other teams, but they don't make my top 5. Living in San Diego the past 22 years, you have to like Hoffman and Gwynn. And Griffey anchored many a fantasy league team in the 90s. If he had been a Yank, he would be in my top 5.

San Diego was one of my stopping points, graduated from High School (Mission Bay), at that time the Padres were a Red Sox Farm Club. Always had fond memories of "Dago" though and took interest in the team when they hit MLB status. Thought the '84 and '98 teams were good units and I too was a fan of Hoffman and Gywnn.

I still remember when Nate Colbert hit 5 home runs in a double header. I think it was around 71 or 72. He had a very short career. Was doing well with the padres but they traded him for reasons unknown when he was in his late 20s & his career just seemed to die. And by the time he was 30 he was out of baseball.

I take it you're a Giant fan. They've been my favorite NL team for over 50 years.

Barry Bonds pre or post steroids up the wazoo? cause in Pitt, he was most likely clean, but definitely not in SF....
