Dragic is the biggest AS snub at this point.

I disagree. I think Davis and Cousins had much more impressive numbers.

Cousins is putting up crazy numbers.

22.6 ppg, 11.6 boards, 1.8 steals, 1.2 blocks, 26.5 PER. And he's doing it in only 32 minutes per game. If you looked at his PER36, the guy would be averaging 25.4 ppg and 13 boards. Just crazy. He reminds me a lot of Derrick Coleman. So much talent, but such a knucklehead.

The fact that coaches have to game plan for lillard is probably why he won vs. Davis and cousins. That and team record. Cousins is easy to game plan for because he's going to shoot it. You never know if dame is dropping dimes, going to the rim, or drilling 38 footers.

Cousins is probably the best post scorer in the game right now. Just unstoppable. Can't shoot from the perimeter though.

Dragic has a team in the playoffs with a bunch of D-leaguers on the team.

I wont argue that, but as a defender I'd know that...

But at what point does someone put up numbers that are so impressive that you have to ignore their record?

Cousins is doing that in 32 minutes per game on a team with chuckers like Isaiah Thomas and Rudy Gay. That's impressive, or at least I think so.

He still might make it. I doubt Stern will choose another guard to replace Kobe.

On that note though Aldridge should start and gayke should be on the bench, or better yet not there at all. I'd take cousins, Duncan, or Davis over gayke biffoon. But you know the league couldn't have their leading advertisement revenue player not at the game.

If Kobe is out I wonder who starts in his place? Do they go big and run Aldridge or Dirk at the sf with Durrant at SG? Or could a back court of Damian lillard and curry be too incredible to pass up? Imo harden would make it but lillard and curry would be an amazing back court

I think it will be Harden or Paul (if he plays.) I don't think Dame will start.

Actually, if Brooks is the coach, it will be Harden.

I was surprised Lillard actually made it. Very glad he did.

I agree with papaG... Dragic definetly deserved to get in. Lillard took his spot, though. So, I'm really okay with it.

Nah, Dame won't start. That's okay though.

Good point harden is probably a lock, unless there is secret bad blood between them. If it was pop he'd probably play lillard the whole game and rest parker

Why does it have to be Dame though that took his spot? Paul hasn't played in a month. Parker isn't playing THAT well either. Spurs have lost three in a row.

It's just an opinion, NB3. I don't think Lillard took Dragic's spot, though. I think both should be All-Stars, and the guy who has been a beast his first 1.5 years in the NBA got the nod from the coaches over a vet who also deserves it, but isn't and hasn't been a factor.

Again congrats to LA and Dame! Proud to have em represent! Votes are votes, somebody gets burned every year. Curry got burned last year, this year he's starting! Not since Clyde and Uncle Cliffy have we had 2 at once!

My point was that there was an article regarding the topic at hand, and I'd rather read that being discussed than the Stephenson/Batum bickering.

    It worked.

As far as snubs/surprises are concerned, I don't think either Parker or Lillard should have made it, and Dragic and Davis should have been in in their place.

As in previous years (even though EJ said "in no particular order") the order the reserves were announced could have been and probably was in order of most voting points received (LMA first in west, Bosh first in east, Howard last in west, DeRozan last in east). If that's true Lillard received the 2nd most in the west.

In other words it probably was never close and Lillard was always a lock - never in competition with Dragic or anyone else for a spot. In that sense he didn't "take" anyone else's spot.

In retrospect this isn't really that hard to believe, since most of us here including myself have been giving much more weight to Lillard's recent slump than the coaches collectively would have. What he and Blazers accomplished through most of the first part of the season would have been far more impressive to the coaches than anything that has happened in the last 3 weeks.
