This is the official "call up" for threads. If this video gets put into a thread, it has been called up to the big leagues!
Seriously? Why the hell are we banning/suspending people left and right? People should have thicker skins on this board. I liked her takes and liked the fact that she gave as good as she got.
So why is it then that there are some of us that don't see at all what you are describing and we read the same stuff? Maybe if you provided some examples of the 'way' she disagreed with posters that caused her to get banned, I could be educated. Like Riverman, to me her style was way less attacking than many of the posters here that are accepted as the norm.
have I just been personally attacked in code? Maybe I don't have enough rep power to decipher the meaning of this but....just saying
You obviously haven't been participating in threads she's been in and had arguments with people in. The proof is in the search button. edit: and thicker skins or not, there are rules on this forum for a reason.
In the history of this forum the mod logs show 1248 people have been banned. Notable in this forum, Mixum, OdenIsGod, that Ben guy and BlazerFanatic.
I totally disagree (so go "F" yourself, man. I'm kidding, really. ) Go back and read her threads. To be honest, after the first week of her posting here, I stopped reading her threads. I stumbled into one by accident maybe 7-10 days ago where she copied and pasted a couple of paragraphs of an article, which she then added several comments of hers into the paragraph with parentheses). It made the paragraphs doubled in overall size and extremely difficult to read. Plus, it was hard to get a feel for what were her comments and what were notes the original added in parentheses. It was overly distracting and since her comments were as long as the paragraphs, it made me feel like I was talking to someone with severe ADD. I wasn't going to say anything at all, I realized who posted, and was just going to move along. It sounds nit-picky, and everyone has their own style of writing, so I really didn't care - it's not like I'd bother to say anything. To each his own. But the first person to respond noted the same things I did, and when they pointed it out and asked about it in a reasonably innocent way, she tore the person apart in a not-so-nice way. I left the thread, and never went back. My way of dealing with her was simply ignoring her posts as much as possible. If you want an explanation of her behavior, go dig through her posts - I assure you'll see the behaviors. I don't care to spend my time digging through her old posts. And as I said, aside from that one post, I hadn't gone into her threads in a while (though I saw some of the same behaviors in the threads I was read started by others). Frankly, I was posting less and reading less in part because of her and a couple of other posters, and in part because this month has been super-busy for me. I'd never complain about it, as she had as much right to be here as I do - I'd do as I did - post less and "overlook" her threads. But I certainly get why people found her a distraction and problematic for the community.
I'd say the way this thread devolved into attacks would be a prime example. http://sportstwo.com/threads/255138-If-you-re-not-on-the-L-Train-what-are-you-waiting-for It all starts out reasonably enough but after a while she starts accusing people of using multiple accounts and brags about how much bigger her post count is than other users. When it's pointed out that post count doesn't mean anything she gets defensive and starts insulting people.
You and Bf battling was what kept iamatrailblazerfan alive as long as it was. I lol'd at multiple posts from both. We are a generation addicted to drama, your fights were some quality drama.
I don't want to get caught up in this thread too much but I want to say a couple things: First, I'm one of those long time posters who just stopped posting or even lurking much. I have been a Blazer fan since the beginning and got to see them win the championship. I've never been athletic enough to play basketball on any level but that doesn't mean I don't love this team as much as everyone else here. I would never complain to a mod about a poster... I'd just leave if it the experience here wasn't fun anymore. After years of our ups and downs and arguing... horrible records, tragic injuries, boring off seasons and now finally success... we all still managed to have a productive and enjoyable board. This single poster was so disruptive there were no more threads I could even read through, they all became so ridiculously petty and stupid. It was so tiresome and it just ruined a board that had trucked along pretty well, albeit with some bumps, for years. I know I can't be the only one and this has nothing to do with her being female. Second, there have been and continue to be several female posters on this board who interact just fine and are treated respectfully with very few exceptions. I know this for a fact because I've met some in person over the years. Hell, I've even seen one naked... but I don't kiss and tell so I'm not saying who it is.
Sure I have. I've interacted with her plenty, and oftentimes we disagreed. She's been snippy with me, but I don't call for her to be banned. And when I was snippy with her right back, she didn't bitch and moan about it. What the hell has this place become if we need to walk on pins and needles around each other. I like her viewpoint and hope she'll be unbanned.
