With the dunk contest coming up just wanted to share a couple of my favorite dunks, both by VC

I was a huge fan of Rider's East Bay Funk Dunk. At the time, it seemed like he was the only one in the NBA who could do it, at least that cleanly. Now, a lot of players can do it. But he floated and looked so smooth. Some of the guys doing it now don't float like that and go way to fast, it doesn't look as beautiful.

 

Dunk contest is always fun, but for me, a best dunk has to be in-game and in traffic.

 

The Carter Olympics one is probably the top one.

There was a game several years back when Outlaw was just starting to come into his own with the team. Portland at Houston. Travis Outlaw threw down a monster dunk on Mutumbo that was sick. A play or two before or after, he came up with a huge block from behind on a fastbreak. That was a pretty sick sequence, and I thought the dunk was pretty tough.

 

He also had a monster dunk against Philly at the RG which I was at. So big they played the "Hey song" afterwards.

 

Yeah, I remember that. It was nnnaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssttty!

 

That Philly dunk.... I think that was over Carney, no?

And my reference to a Houston dunk...... that was Yao Ming, no Mutumbo. Brain fart.

I believe the best dunk I've ever seen was a Baron Davis dunk. It was in college, he caught a pass off the backboard on a fast break. I've never found the video though, which makes me wonder if it was someone else who caught that.
