Despite the fact that we're now into February, ten of MLBTR's Top 50 free agents remain free agents, as they've yet to find a contract that meets their desires this offseason. The market includes three of the market's top bats and seven pitchers -- six starters and one closer coming off a pair of elite seasons.

Ervin Santana, A.J. Burnett, Ubaldo Jimenez, Stephen Drew, Nelson Cruz, Kendrys Morales, Bronson Arroyo, Fernando Rodney, Suk-Min Yoon and Paul Maholm have yet to sign contracts. Of the group, it's interesting to note that three of the seven are Scott Boras clients -- Drew, Morales and Yoon -- and Boras is no stranger to signing large deals late in the offseason.

I wonder if the Yankees have any interest in any of the 10... I'm sure if the price was right, they'd have more interest, but the question remains

...Boras has landed many a large contract but this isn't the first time that he's misread the market and actually ended up with a very disappointed client.

Paul Maholm is a career 76-95 pitcher. Made 6.5 M with the braves last season when he went 10-11 with a 4.41 era. Granted he's a lefty & only 31 but I'd pass.

Ervin Santana also only 31 but he earned 13M last year & is probably looking for something long term.

    A.J. Burnett. REALLY?

Fernando Rodney 37 years old & a MAJOR headcase. No thank you.

Bronson Arroyo also 37 years old & made 16.4M last season so again...........NO!

The only pitcher in the group that I might take an interest in is Ubaldo Jimenez. Went 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA with the Indians last season while making only 5.7M & only 30 years old. I'd go 2 years @ 15M.

As far as the hitters. No thank you on Cruz, Drew sorry but IMO not worth the money he'll be looking for. And I'd love Morales but unfortunately there just wouldn't be enough ABs for him available.

And then there's this Suk-min Yoon to which I can only say........WHO THE FUCK IS HE?

Suk is an international FA not bound to a posting fee... (just posted a thread about it, but here is a link on him... http://yanksgoyard.com/2014/01/29/suk-min-yoon-why-arent-the-yankees-interested/) He's expected to get a 2 year deal around $10M... I think he might be worth a flyer...
