They need one more decent bat, hate seeing McCann down there with no protection, and with a pile of young catchers going nowhere as a Yankee a trade is a must now, get an IF please.
All in all I feel pretty good about this line up. So much so that I'm predicting 90-95 wins & the division.
I think I would hit McCann fourth or fifth and then maybe Soriano then Tex. I still think they need another bat for the infield an I just wish they would sign Drew or swing a trade. Roberts will not last even 80 games and I think that may be a stretch. I also would bat Gardner 9th.
Latest word as I though, the Mets are close to signing Drew but are only offering 1 year & I think he's looking for more.
Said it before but I am not all that fired up about Drew, and he should have taken Boston's $14 Mil QO. I also often point out that "I don't really care about the money" but if they can sign him for ONE year with a CLUB OPTION for a second year, fine, go ahead and do it. The reason I would not commit to more than one year is that there should be better options next year. ...offer him $12 Mil with the club option of $12 MIl next year.
