Yeah, the more that comes out makes it seem like Martin couldn't hack it and was worried about his place on the team, so he came up with an excuse as a way out. Not saying that's necessarily true, but that's the way things are starting to look. Incognito is a d-bag, though.
They both come out as assholes in these texts, but Martin actually seems like the bigger one knowing what he did. Incognito seems like he wanted to be friends with the guy, and the only way you could misconstrue this as bullying is if you have never been around teenage boys or men in their 20s.
If you're trying to run a clandestine drug party or prostitution ring, inviting this calibre of clientèle is probably a mistake. I'm guessing a couple of those places named in the texts will have had visits from the feds lately.
Martin is an overrated tackle who was getting clobbered in the film room. So, to save his career, he tried to throw Incognito under the bus, with hopes of a payday by either suing Incognito or the Dolphins. If Martin doesn't have some sort of severe mental disorder, then he's a terrible human being for doing this to a guy who thought was his friend.
