With Mo out for Family issues, Earl will get a chance. Probably two games to show us what he can do. Looking forward to watching. http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...l_blazers_for_family_reason.html#incart_river
Damnit, I was just about to post this. Well, this is something I know a lot of us have wanted to see. Not under these circumstances (still sending the best to Mo.) But we will see. I'm excited.
Indiana will be a tough one as they are an excellent defensive team, but I think we can still get a good indication of what he can offer as long as Terry doesn't stick him with only reserves. I doubt he will. I think Earl, Wes, and Wright would work well together.
Maybe or we could see a Lillard and CJ back court for a few minutes. I think Lillard will get mostly PG duties tonight though.
My designated favorite player this season has a lot fewer minutes than McCollum. You can't expect much.
My whole reputation as a basketball prognosticator is riding on this. Watson is in bad shape, I hear. Anything he does will be heroic.
If the answer is "It's Earl Watson time," you're asking the wrong question. Who will get the rest of Mo's minutes? Time to shine, CJ!!! It's in him.
Is there where I post If Mo played, we would've won? Mo hit huge shots in our win over Indy earlier this year.
I thought EW did a great job tonight. Now if we can just get Victor or Crabbe into the rotation instead of Dorell Wright...
We need to see a few more games of Watson, let him get used to being on the court. I liked that he was looking to facilitate the offense and kept the ball moving. There were a few plays that didn't work out, but I think that was as much unfamiliarity with guys on the court, and most of that was because he was playing with our not-too-bright backups. He was picking up fouls because he was playing defense. Refs don't like it when the Blazers play defense. I'll take Watson looking to pass and playing hard on defense over Mo, at least until we've given the Watson experiment a chance. The thing is, I feel like there is a zero chance that Stotts takes Mo out of the rotation when he gets back, considering the circumstances.
Yeah, I'm sure Mo's defense would have been the difference. Or maybe his offensive rebounding in the 4th and OT. That plus he'd have taken the ball out of Dame's hands, as usual, and Lillard would have scored 10 fewer points. Good plan.
Does CJ go 4-4 in that scenario? Does he even play? Between Earl and CJ they were 5-5 last night in a combined 24 minutes. I don't think either would have played if Mo did. I think Earl should play and I think Terry needs to play either Mo or CJ at SG. One or the other. Probably Mo because of his experience and leadership. But as a PG Mo is not cutting it IMO.
Would Mo have been in instead of Wes during the minutes Wes was going HAM in the post, keeping us in the game? There's too many variables.
