I have now watched the video. Ham is so pathetic. According to him, all knowledge ended around 2000 years ago. You hear Nye saying "we don't know that, how exciting, let's go find out" and Ham says "ho hum, bible said something, end of story". Sad, that an apparently intelligent person can be so utterly lacking in intellectual curiosity.

We all realize that Satan took the form of a snake and encouraged Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Because of Knowledge, we don't get to live in the garden of eden. For that reason, fuck Knowledge!

It's more a matter of intellectual dishonesty than lack of intellectual curiosity. Ham is just a con man preying on Christians ignorant of science, as are virtually all prominent YEC leaders.

Yes. And the bible is true because the bible says so.
But only the parts they feel like quoting.

Debating often resembles playing solo tennis with a brick wall.

I really do not understand the "don't even debate" sentiment. Why not debate? I'm sure everyone here knows more than one person who believes the earth is 6,000 years old. If you're a scientist who is interested in educating people, why not take an opportunity to have a captive audience that otherwise wouldn't even give you the time of day?

An idealist's offshoot of my newfound religion is that on my idealist days, I believe the Universe is defined as the greatest ideal in my Mind. Therefore, since I feel idealistic right now, I believe the age of the universe is the age of Mo Williams.

Creationists are personally incapable of evolving, therefore they do not believe in evolution.

For a cognizant, reasoning being to think he can change the stagnant minds of intentionally irrational beings is folly.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think.

Mendel, as you know, was a scientist who made some phenomenal discoveries about genetics. He was scoffed at and ignored both by the general public and by most scientists of his time. Nearly every important smart person in history has faced the same fate, because stupid people just can't be taught. They can only be programmed.

I'll take the compliment that you compare him to me.

As for your Pew link, Pew is an ultra-Christian propaganda thinkless tank run by far-right 1%ers. It is useless as a source of credible facts.

Mendel was a monk. So much for your statement about a religious person's scientific abilities.
