Boy this sucks! We really need some help at backup center! It's going to tough to keep teams out of the paint when RoLo isn't in the game.
Wow no tear. Very lucky. I can't think of any 2-6mil big guys that play D that might be available. Bass is the only one that comes to mind, but he doesn't really play D. Varejao would be nice but with his salary, we would need to give up too much to get him. Maybe we can go after Chris Johnson again... is he in the D league? We do have a roster spot open I believe.
4weeks, he would still play 18 games of regular season, 8 weeks, he would only play 4 games of regular season
I think we need to put something together with Philly. If we could add Turner and Hawes, it would give us the shot in the arm that we desperately need. I would cash in our young guys to get them. It's a risk because they're both free agents, but we need to do something. Turner might even supplant someone like Matthews in the starting lineup. Either way, we need depth badly. Greg Anthony wouldn't shut up about it last night.
I was thinking yesterday, our bench isn't THAT bad. You look at OKC's best bench players, and we compare pretty well. Jackson vs Mo Lamb vs CJ Collison vs Joel/TRob Adams vs Leonard Perry Jones vs Barton/Crabbe/Claver etc. The biggest discrepancy is probably the Collison vs our bigs matchup. And I'd obviously take Adams over Meyers, but the difference isn't too big. Hawes would be an awesome addition.
Please God no, not Chris Johnson. That guy is not an NBA quality player. He's been working out at Club Sport recently with a 6'2" kid who I went to school with who wasn't even D1 college level.
Well at least it's a knee injury that's not career ending and at least it's not Robin! Good luck Joel, heal fast
Not to mention the first week of his recovery happens to coincide with the All-Star break. Let's just hope it's more on the 4 week end of the range rather than 8 weeks.
Marcus Mariota played the week after spraining/tearing his MCL. He wasn't nearly as effective and had to wear a cumbersome brace, but unless the tear is very bad, I'd expect Freeland back closer to the 4-week window. If it's 8 weeks, that's a really bad tear.
I would like having Hawes on the team. However, getting Philly agree to a trade is a different story.
