Wow, here we go again, the farewell tours... Do we sign Drew immediately, for insurance and long term since Derek's money will be coming off?

Gosh I hate this, and I hate the idea of another friggin farewell tour. Let's hope he goes out on a high note, he deserves it.

His message also seemed to me to be an indication that he doesn't feel 100%. With the fact that things aren't coming easy statement.

And they still won't sign Drew...I would think they would give it some thought now but it doesn't seem like they have any interest.

They are making a huge mistake, sign Drew for 3 years and deal with the reality after the 2016 season.

He turned down a one year 14M with the Sox so maybe its not the money but the years, SOOOOO if he'd take say 30M for those 3 years I'd give it some thought. otherwise I've gotta pass.

The fact that he is a Boras client means that Boras will want top dollar now that he knows the Yankees need just went higher. Does anyone else feel that Jeter could of handled this better. By that I mean, we just went through an off season of spending and if the Yankees new in December that he was retiring, do you feel it would have changed their approach to free agency somewhat?

For whatever reason the yanks have never been enamored with drew and with last 5 seasons avgs of .252,253,193,250 and 253 and power of 5,7,2,5,and 13 I don't blame them. An average player looking for star money. No thanks for me. Find another option after this season. A very doable 120 hits puts him 6th all time. and a Jeter like 199 puts him 5th in hits all time.

...ditto. Rather take a look at Hardy, Ramirez, Lowrie next year.

Lowrie would be my choice as he plays 3 infield positions (ss, 2B & 3B) & is also a switch hitter. And speaking of switch hitters I'd also throw Asdrubal Cabrera into the mix. Aside from SS he also plays 2B. Has some pop & is a career 270 hitter.
