Holy hell... I'm not sure I've ever seen a worse quarter of shots than that. This team is desperate for a slasher. That was brutal.
13 points 7 rebounds 7 assists 5 turnovers Lillard getting bullshit fouls called on him again was the issue. It's so frustrating to watch opposing teams be able to pressure him, yet he gets fouls called on him.
Don't get me started on Dame's foul trouble. I saw Paul jump onto the scorers table after apparently getting hit on a moving screen. I want to love this guy's game for his competitiveness but think of him as such a bitch because of his flopping. He tried his best to flop his way to get Dame out of the game, but it didn't really work. Wish there was some justice -- we should have won tonight.
The entire Clipper team is a bunch of whiners, starting with their bullshit head coach who lucked his way into an NBA title before the NBA apparently changed the rules on perimeter defending. I say apparently, because the Clippers are allowed to double and hedge with two hands on the ballhandler, which is supposed to be an automatic foul. Paul was able to flop his way to getting Dame out of the game, by the way. Dame only had 31 minutes, and had 6 turnovers in part due to hands being all over him once he crossed midcourt. I hate the Clippers. Their entire act is just ridiculous.
I have to take responsibility for our game first before I start looking at others. The difference between a young team and a veteran team is experience. The Clippers looked far more experienced in their shot selection down the stretch. Lillard is a good player who should only get better but he's clearly lacking that veteran leadership quality right now. I thought his shot selection was off. I thought Matthews shot selection was off in the closing quarter and I wish Batum wasn't so worried about being finesse; he should have shot his last three to make it and not try and draw the foul. I wonder if he has a low confidence issue? We have got to learn to close out ball games better than that.
Horrible shot selection in the 4th, often rushing without trying much to get a better shot. I was hoping we'd give Dame the ball, and just get out of his way. No screen, just space the floor.
As much as I hate iso-ball, screens aren't doing Dame any favors - at best he dribbles laterally 30' from the hoop; at worst he turns the ball over trying to split defenders.
