I'm rooting for the guy. I hope he gets better but I have a feeling the things he needs can't be taught. He does have the size though. Oh, I had a couple of go-rounds with BF, plenty for me. I have a strict 'no asshole' policy on a board where everybody has there own opinion. Have a good night.
That half court alley-oop from Paul to Griffin was on Leonard. Instead of getting back on defense to guard his man, he decided to stay in the backcourt and try to steal the ball from Chris Paul...
I don't see how anyone can particularly fault Leonard's defense in a game in which the Blazers played little to no defense all night.
Try adding my stupid posts and subtracting yours. Okay, even though I wasn't watching him specifically, I saw him blow the rebound at least three times when he was the tallest guy there and right in the mix. One specific memory is, he was in perfect position for where the missed shot went, he holds up his arms too early thinking he's gaining advantage, two Clippers swarm him and raise their arms nearby, following the ball down, pushing away his weak extended arms to get it...if he waited a second, then exploded his arms up to surprise them, they couldn't just put their hands next to his to block his hands, using tactile feel. Ever seen Price is Right? You let the other person bid, then you bid one dollar higher. They let him place his hands, then just put theirs in front of his. The better his position, the more he defeats himself. He needs explosiveness.
Myers Leonard is a nice guy and will probably develop into a decent role player in the far, far, future but as of right now he's terrible. I am not saying this to be mean spirited at all but he reminds me of Darko Milicic when he came into the league. He truly should have stayed in college and if not college then he should be playing down in the D-league because he's just that raw. He needs to be playing and not on the bench. I just don't understand why teams don't put players into the D-League for long stretches, like, most of the season. Look at how Babbitt improved in Russia. He just needed playing time.
i was happy with his performance last night. Meyers is definitely a project but I see a light at the end of the tunnel. He just needs to keep working and hopefully he'll get there.
He came into the league to support his mother who is crippled and cannot work. His father died when he was under the age of 6 I believe. His only brother is in the Marines, and probably doesn't make enough to support both himself and mother. Yes, Meyers needs to work on his game, but he is clearly athletic.
Exactly. Just like there are no negatives in a win. Just sunshine and unicorns. Just ask some of the thought police on this board.
Nards is a beast child with the hair of a greek god and the sad eyes of a heartbroken teenager. He is a kind soul with a flair for the dramatic, an introvert yet substantive, and he was born with a innate ability to display exaggerated facial expressions. plus he's tall like a ladder
Please; there have been no positives in our wins either if you read the threads. Since driving off Mags and banning Blazer Fanatic, there's nothing approaching optimism in this forum. And now the "realists" are turning on each other, tripping each other up in a race to see who's the most pessimistic about the team, hoping they will be the first to accurately predict the obviously looming disaster. There is no thought police that you don't already control.
