The HCP has been pretty scarce too. It was a lot more lively around here with Mags and HCP's wife's husband around.
I was at the game last night. You knew the outcome was coming. cP3 is a difference maker in close games. The Clips got good shots in the end. We took horrible shots at the end. Leonard certainly is not a stereotypical "big white stiff". He actually can get better with experience. I guess we will have to suffer through his growing pains. The Clipper fans were impressed with CJ..... as was I. By next year he may not start, but hopefully he will finish. We need his skill set on the floor at the end of games. It can't be just Damian. We need at least two guys on the floor that can create their own shot. Neither Wes, nor LMA, nor Nic can in that situation. Wes is still a better overall player, but not in that scenario. Just absolutely horrible shot selections in the last 90 seconds. That and stupid turnovers were the difference. 16-8 in the turnover department.
You mean nit picking the negatives when the team is playing well, and the conflagration of angst and pessimism when they aren't? I haven't actually counted, but it does seem like there are more posts and more emotion when a player makes an error than when the team is rolling. Human nature? IDK. Personally, I tend to view our project players with optimism and patience, and I'm glad to see a positive Meyers Leonard thread. I'm not convinced he's a hopeless cause. For example, he got roasted for letting his man run the court for a dunk while he was stupidly trying to challenge the ball. I have to believe he's smart enough to learn from that mistake. He needs time. I like Meyers and I hope he succeeds. Then there is CJ. Most of us have to be ecstatic with his overall performance. I think. Then there are those who will continue to argue his negatives, and they have stats to prove it! Oh, well. If there was no disagreement, there wouldn't be much activity here, I guess. I have ignored posters before who had such a single-minded view of a player that it clouded their rational thought and rendered their posts generally useless. But I'm not going to try to censor them and tell them how to post. Telling others how or what they are allowed to post, positive or negative, bothers me more than any other thing on this board.
I find myself reading less of this board, too. The constant negativity of a handful of posters is overwhelming this site, and pro-Blazer posters are run off the board. It's almost like budging from an opinion is considered a sign of weakness. I was down on CJ a few weeks ago. He gets benched for the Knick game, Mo leaves the team, and CJ looks like a completely different player. He can create offense, and that's all the team needs from him now. He's filling the role asked of him, and I appreciate it.
Leonard has all the tools to be an effective player. What he doesn't have is instinct and anticipation, both of which come from experience. I continue to have high hopes for him.
have to agree, while it is fine to comment on what we think can be improved overall I think any fan should be very pleased with this team and season so far, even when we lose to top teams we are right there almost all the time, and they play a very entertaining style of Bball
I am not at all as positive as you on this, but I hope he proves me dead wrong, would really like to see him succeed
I think 3-6 in the last 9 games and 5-8 in last 13 has something to do with the lack of optimism. Hopefully Lillard will dominate one of his 5 all star events and we can have something good to talk about.
I completely agree here. I get mad at him in games but after the game iv got to step back and remind myself we drafted him knowing his upside and the fact he was a multi-year project. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
