Front Office realizes that with Jeter's announcement today, they have a great opportunity now to move forward with the Core 4 history and the 10 year contracts in the rear view mirror. After buying out Arod's remaining 3 years and they are clean to go forward.

    1. Pray that the lower level prospects produce
    2. Build on the Manny B, Pineda, Tanaka core for the future
    3. Concentrate on the International Market this year

      What else?

Sandra Bullock in that tight blue dress. I've been in love with her ever since.

Yep. The end of those 10 year contracts last till exactly the unlikely scenario that Mike Trout becomes a free agent and wants to come back home. Then we may see the first 300 million contract. LOL

Heard on MLB this AM that the Angels are talking about giving Trout an extension. Don't know how much money they have but if Trout were on my team I'd damn sure lock him up.

...the Angels already have a couple of contracts they regret, not to mention the money they still have to pay Wells this year, so yeah, they may or may not be a bit hamstrung but like you say, they really need to find a way to lock Trout up.
...but if you're Trout, would you go ahead and take a "discount" for 10 years/$200 Mil if they offered it?

He could always get the kind of contract from the Angels that the Yankees are known for. Take a 10 year deal with an opt out clause after 5

Not if his agent is boras or Jay-z. Unless he gets hurt don't see how he doesn't surpass A-rods contract

...his agent is Craig Landis...but just imagine if the Angels did offer him something like $200 Mil...at 22, it would be hard to turn down if it were me. I mean he won't be a FA for another 4 years and what if he suffers a career altering injury?...I'd have to take the $200 Mil and run.
