    Died from complications of numerous strokes. Managed the Phillies to the World Series in 1993.

    Aside from the 1993 world series, his other claim to fame was that he was involved in the Mets trade for Nolan Ryan. R.I.P. coach.

    He was a fine defensive SS for early Angels Teams, got that franchise to it's first ever playoff in '79. I was stationed in Maryland then and was hoping the Angels would knock off the Orioles but not to be. He was a pretty cool dude, they did a nice presentation on his career on "Hot Stove" this AM.
