...the injury bug can hit any team, you just never know...but I don't really see the Yanx being any more susceptible than other teams.

...all we can do is cross our fingers...just my 2 cents.

This wasn't going to change overnight. This story can probably be run next spring training too.

Predicting injury probabilities based on a player's age is simplistic at best. Trying to further correlate that to injury history absent of statistical analysis of larger sample sets and meta data makes this article a complete joke. Of course I shouldn't expect a so called journalist to actually apply any more effort than to claim that the next winner of the Kentucky derby will have four legs.

Yep, the Yanks' farm system let them down last year - and yes the Yanks had a ton of major long term injuries to productive front line players last year.
Bottom line--> If it happens again (to ANY TEAM), the Yanks (and any other team) will be scrambling and struggling like heck.

No doubt the Yanks need Tex and CC to bounce back and be productive.
As for catcher, 2b, 3b,SS and the outfield, the Yanks appear to have decent depth with Cervelli/Romine/Murphy. Ryan, Nunez and Ichiro.
Every thing else being equal (injury wise), Yanks will need to adequately cover any TWO of 2b,3B,SS to survive in case of long term injuries.
    Quite possible !

    DON'T PANIC ! lol

memo to Joel Sherman, if ANY OTHER TEAM (as well as the Yanks) sustain the same amount of major long term injuries to productive top hitters as the Yanks did last year......they'll all be hanging on by their finger nails.
And don't forget to toss in a few injuries to the back-up players like the Yanks ALSO had last year such as Nunez, Nix and Cervell (who was doing VERY WELL when he got hurt early in the season)
