    Wilson is a black guy that thinks more like a white guy. Doesn't really count. They need someone a little more chocalatey like McNabb or Vick to win one and then it would be more newsworthy.

    I certainly have if Hollywood and Portland are diverse urban centers.

    As for being from the streets, I was a skateboarder before skateboards were commercially made. :devilwink:

    I think Chris Rock puts into context well when talking about the tennis players Venus and Serena Williams . . . part of why they were so cutting edge in sports is they were black black, not country club black.

    Wilson is country club black.

    (I remember there used to be a time when the underlying unspoken question was if a black player could be smart enough to be a successful NFL quarterback . . . oh where is Jimmy the Greek when you need him)

    I knew I'd get that response. I wasn't going to copy the article by adding "that's not to say white QB's aren't athletic."

    The current breed of QB has changed the game. Now, if defenses figure out how to contain these guys in the pocket, what level of success will we see? I do think there are some that don't consider these guys as legit QB's, for no other reason than they haven't proven they can play the traditional QB role (which is dumb).

    His dad looks less black than he does.. Enough that if I was asked to guess his race, I don't think I'd say African-American or black.

    If blacks were smart enough to be quarterbacks, then there would be a lot of black NBA point guards.
