i could see that being an issue if he was going to start but coming off the bench isn't really as big a concern to me

That was a contract year though. Is Dallas still running roughly the same offense that we're running?

Olshey's office is a tomb. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm hearing NOTHING.

Actually, that is the one thing I have heard; that we're being proactive. Olshey and his staff are working the phones, but nothing is leaking.

Me too. How long before we could retrade Mayo (if we got him without giving up CJ)?

Again...my feeling exactly. I like Leonard as a project, but Henson is 'safer' and able to produce.

In the short term, probably. I'm not sold on Mayo as a good fit or chemistry guy. I'd rather move Mo or Wright or someone else than CJ, and then retrade Mayo later.

Without getting your information source(s) in trouble, what kind of connection do you have? Do you have an old high school/college pal involved in the process, or just twitter and the like?

Hearing similar things here. Not from out of Portland but from other contacts around the league. Neil might be able to sneak in at the deadline if nothing else happens as a lot of talks are stalled.

Hasn't that been how things have gone down with Olshey? We hear nothing then it happens.

Exactly. Remember how open Patternash and KP/Penn were? This is less fun for us, but I would argue it's better for the team.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have held trade talks with the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers on Luol Deng.

There is little traction on the talks as no team seems inclined to give up highly valued assets for Deng, who will be a free agent in the offseason.

Deng is determined to test free agency before making a decision on whether to re-sign with the Cavaliers.

Deng will be seeking a deal in the $12 million to $13 million per season range.

If Deng is announcing that he's going to test free agency, then his value will be $0.70 on the dollar for Cleveland.

If Deng will sign a 3 to 4 year deal with the Blazers for around what Batum is making I'm ready to deal!
