Why do you think Deng is a better fit for this team then either Wes/Batum? Because it will take one of either of them to get him.

Seriously? Henson is the best player in the deal - and it ain't close. When you get the best player in the deal, you generally win the deal.

He wouldn't be a worse fit than Mo- and is much younger.

Deng is more consistent and the better defender. I like Batum he's one of my favorite but you can't fall in love with players.

Deng is very consistent and a better defender then both Batum or Mathews, that isn't to say neither Batum or Mathews is a bad defender or that Deng is a significant upgrade on the defensive end either. But I asked why he would be better then either of them because that's who your giving up for him.
Batum runs our offense almost as much as Lillard does and can guard PGs, Deng cannot do either.
Mathews would be the most likely person to be replaced but may not interest the Cavs as a main piece in a deal and he is a much better shooter, especially from 3, then Deng.
With stotts offense he seems to want his wings to be great from 3 and Deng is below avg from 3. Deng a great player and id love him on most teams but I'm not sure if he is a better fit then Batum, or even wes, and I don't think Wes has enough value to be the centerpiece of a trade for him.

My guess is that if we get a big it ends up being Kaman from the Lakers

No way we trade for Mayo with CJ in the wings.

No way we trade for Deng with Batum and Wes here.

No need to trade nothin'. Have you guys not been watching what we have been doing this season?

I have watched the last few months and I am not so impressed, we were already thin up front and now have been decimated, watching may get harder

Look at the Pacers and what they have been doing this season. They are looking to deal.

I have been watching. Great start playing a ton of Leastern Conference teams and playoff caliber teams at home. Last 25 games? Right at .500.

One of the worst benches in the league, a defense in the bottom 1/3, gets killed in the paint, near the bottom in fast break points, almost last in forcing turnovers and has a very good offense when they are hitting the '3'.

So no easy baskets and relying a ton on the outside shot with poor D and little support from the bench. Been watching quite closely from the beginning regardless of the outcome. Was told 'scoreboard' early on but the issues have not changed, just the winning percentage.

They may not have the assets to make a trade but that certainly doesn't mean they don't need to address a number of things.

Olshey and company made some great moves by drafting Dame and trading for Lopez.

However, the boys in charge also put our team in a difficult situation with a thin bench and few assets in terms of trades (that is outside of the starting line-up) and draft picks.

Some people even said this team would be defined by the rough patches. Here we are. It's time to pick up the pieces, make necessary changes on defense, and go after opposing teams with 110% effort on both sides of the court.

So you feel Deng could be matched against the best player on the opposing team, whether a PG to SF? I'm not so sure, and that is what is asked of Batum every night.

    I found this funny:

Marc Stein: As we reported earlier today: Knicks telling teams they will NOT part with Shumpert unless you furnish a first-rounder or take back Felton

You draw up a fine point however with Deng the Blazers would probably get more easy buckets. I have always said you trade Batum your trading one of the only SF in the league that can guard the best PG's . If Deng would sign with Portland this might be one of the deals where your damned if you do and damned if you don't.

That's their way of saying they can't part with Shumpert. :biglaugh:
