...is giving Andrew Marchand a run for his money as my least favorite writers...Ian OConner gets an honorable mention. If you saw Jeter's presser yesterday, after being asked a question that he had already answered you may have heard Jeter put him in his place by saying "Did you even read my Facebook statement?"...the whole room laughed. ...and who was the dumbass who asked the question which clearly annoyed Jeter?...yup, Wallace Mathews. The only thing worse than reading Marchand's and Mathews' ramblings is watching them as a team in videos...ESPN is getting worse and worse. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=10484340&ex_cid=espnapi_public
...ESPN has really fallen. It used to be much simpler when it was just Chris Berman and a couple of others...now, like the f'n Weather Channel, they have 8 different people telling you the same thing when 1 will suffice. (see Jim Cantore standing outside during a hurricane...Jim; "Wow, it's really blowing out here".....uhh no shit, Jim, it's a f'n hurricane...now get your ass back inside before the wind blows a traffic sign into your spleen.) ...ESPN is just as bad. Every jackass with a blog evidently merits a spot on their staff...I suppose that ESPN values quantity over quality. Like you said, Olney and a handful of others are OK, but most of them write shit just for the sake of writing something, whether it has merit or not...and much of their columns resemble something that you or I might spew after 8-10 shots of Patron. ...I'll stop venting now....wait, no I won't.
I think that was very well said. It's just complete overkill with ESPN at this point. For baseball stuff I stick with the MLB Network for an overall view on things and of course YES for the Yankee stuff.
