Great scoring chances wasted by shooting directly into the midsection, and nobody forcing their way to the net.
Canada's d-men are ridiculous. Look at those names on their blueline. They completely controlled the flow of the game.
Bottom line is 3 top teams with sweden and will be close wins or losses one way or another. We had our chances also just couldn't put one in.
The tournament has been great! I wish the NHL would run a tournament or two simultaneous to the season. The women's finals was captivating.
I cared. Wouldn't have watched if I didn't. Really wish this had been for the gold. Tomorrows game can go one of two ways, the USA comes out pissed and wins going away; or they play like just don't care and Finland wins a boring game.
The women played great for 55 minutes, and then panicked and began chasing the Canadien women all over the ice for the final 5 and we all saw the outcome. All they had to do was stay in their lanes, and protect the crease. I feel bad for them, but it's not like they lost to a bad team.
Yeah they had their chances, but not as many as Canada. Wasted to many opportunities by not going to the net and screening Price, and by putting to many shots into his midsection. Oh well, maybe in another 4 years.
It's still too hard to get past the feeling of it being a glorified allstar tournament. I guess when you grew up with Lake Placid and the college kids being underdogs it's just different. Some younger people only know pros in it which is cool too.
I grew up with 1980 team but still rather watch the very best against each other. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I agree, but I can't say that I didn't like watching the pro's either. If they went back to College players, I'd watch that as well.
They just weren't into it, I think the Canada game just took to much out of them. Findland is good, and Don't be surprised if Sweden beats Canada.
I'm sure they wanted to get up for it, but sometimes it's hard. Lets wait and see how Canada does against Sweden.
The US team looked like they didn't want to be there. Pretty discouraging for a program that seemed to be well on it's way to becoming the best in the world. The US has been pumping out young talent lately. I don't really know what to make of this let-down. I wouldn't have Bylsma back if he can't inspire or control his team. Sweden hasn't faced a top team in the tournament. Whether that means they'll be fresh or overconfident remains to be seen. Expecting a great match tomorrow.
Can't blame Bylsma, at this level, if the players can't get themselves up for the game then they shouldn't there.
