pic of the teen. kind of looks special needs....

the police said it was a BB gun. Maybe it was a wii controller that was shaped like a gun? sounds weird though, so many contradictions in everything.

gut feeling tells me the female cop freaked out and fired without provocation.

Did the cop go to the door with her weapon drawn? If she had time to unholster, aim and shoot - how did she not have time to realize the kid was holding a harmless object?

They had to shoot him too because he was holding a foam sword.

Who decides the training methods? Who decides rules of engagement, how fast a policeman should shoot, whether to aim to kill or at legs?

The FBI. The President chooses the FBI Director. Under Carter, rules of when to draw your gun were more restrictive. Then Reagan was elected and it's been War on Crime ever since.

    Conservatives hate Carter.

Geez, who knows what happened. A vid came out last year of police who shot a man they were arresting, they said he was charging at them with a knife, but the video shows he was not, he was probably 10 feet away and not moving towards them and they just dropped him.

Imagine the media shit storm if this guy had been black.

Jesus, google Dallas Police and you find all kinds of madness. They apparently get a thrill out of killing people!

And the only consequence is that they get fired? I understand that they need the ability to use force, but this is criminal.
Some news reports say that the officer in the Bennett shooting was charged with a felony. But the Dallas Police Chief has implemented a new rule that an officer can wait 72 hours before writing a report when they shoot someone. Perhaps so they can see if video disputing their lie comes out??? What a bunch of bullshit!

Half the time they dont even get fired, they just get desk duty or a pay cut. I live in Dallas and have heard of a few questionable police actions already in 2014.

It is 100% legal to answer your door with a loaded gun in your hand. There is no legal basis for a cop to shoot you for exercising your constitutional right to bear arms. Unless I know the officer personally, or summoned him myself, that's how I answer the door if it's a cop.

The cop is obviously an incompetent idiot who should never have been hired, like most cops. Now a kid's entire life is gone. More innocent children are killed every year by cops than by school shootings. You can only sweep so many under the rug.
