In defense of Mr. 59 (whom I have had my disagreements with)I never got one impression that he has a dislike for gays, the only issue is whether or not being gay in sports is newsworthy.

 

...thanx al..and the thing about it, I don't believe anyone else did either...and you're right, the whole crux of the thread was not about whether or not it's OK to be gay, but instead why celebrities feel the need to make their sexual preference public... because in the end, it's irrelevant.

I hang around the reddit board and I have many more post than you, you sanctimonious ass. And I was called a "Klansman" BY 2 NEW POSTERS to the reddit board. I was accused of defending 59, who needs no assistance in defending himself, My political and religious views are not in question here, what is in question is that when you and your motley crew lose traction in a debate, instead of conceding the point you turn to the "Liar, Liar, pants on Fire" defense. Which unfortunately makes you look silly.

 

So rickyspireal is this your 3rd SN now or is it your 4th.? Yeah, Coward fits you perfectly. Wanna cry some more on the reddit board that even they don't want to listen to you.

You need to keep something very important in mind & that's this, under ANY screen name, you'll always be a loser.

 

And Rick that sums up my feeling on this 300+ thread. You post here as Rick####, Hammer, Jeter, Yankee59, Al, Totus, Vette, and on and on. You post your comments under your sign in name. We have become friends here and shared debate on many things Yankees, but we most likely couldn't pick each other out of a lineup. But one thing is consistent. We post 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, under our names not just here, but also for those of us who post on the Reddit site. So there you have it, people who stand for what they type and own it. And in closing, one more shout out to Denny, who I really would like to respect, but can't when he allows these artificial names to inflate his numbers at the cost of quality and honesty. On the Reddit board it states that anyone slinging racial or inappropriate posting will not be allowed to post. If calling this board and several people on this board Klansman isn't grounds for banning then what is.So this non-existent competition between the 2 sites is a farce. Are there people who over the years have grown to have issues with some posters, sure. But get over it, it's a sports site dedicated to a team we all love. Otherwise, take your real name down to whatever government agency you choose and declare yourself a candidate for political office and effect change in the appropriate forum and not that of a sports site of the New York Yankees. And on a personal note, my favorite cousin is a lesbian and she is loved by all for who she is and not what she is.

 

That is my question... they call us klansman which violates their own code, yet they continue to post... and then they bring that crap here, and it flys here as well... but we are the hate mongers... right?....

I would request this thread as well as the other o/t threads that led to the issues that happened recently should be locked. we don't really need any outsiders reading that stuff nor commenting with wise remarks. the issue should be over and done with and we should all move on....imo
